Advantages: Amazing camera, sleek and stylish design
Disadvantages: dogdy touch screen, slow at times, not the best at internet browsing
This phone definately looks the bees knees. Its sleek black/silver trendy style was a major purchase factor when I was on the hunt for a phone. However, The phone comes with only 3 themes, all of which aren't exactly exciting to say the least.
One of the Viewty's main strengths is its 5.1 Megapixel camera capable of capturing videos in 120 fps. This is quite a neat little feature that brings a laugh now and again. In general, the pictures it takes are spectacular and the videos are smooth and not pixelated. If you want a phone that can take decent photos and can capture good videos, get this one.
Its touch screen has a lot to be desired though and I think LG should take a leaf out of Apples book as their Iphone's have much better screens. The responsiveness of the LG's screen just doesnt cut it and in my experience it is a nightmare to browse on the web with it. The touch pen that comes with the phone looks more like some lipstick than anything else, and as a male I prefer to use my fingers when operating the phone than the pen. Sometimes, I find myself tapping the wrong thing every now and again which can get frustrating. But if you use the pen you wont have any problems.
The phone can appear to be slow at times when you look at folders and the like but most of the time it is sharp.
It features a neat little button on the side of the phone that unlocks it instantly once pressed, and I can honestly say this has never created a problem for me.
When I first got this phone it's battery life was fantastic, lasting up to nearly a week at times. Over time this has deteriorated but never the less can still last half a week or more.
Music and video playback on this phone are great. The speaker kicks out clear tunes on demand but unfortunately has a lot to be desired in the volume department. Compared to the nokia n95's speaker volume, the LG just isnt up to scratch.
The slider wheel, although a major sales pitch for the phone, I only use it to zoom the camera in and out.
Overall a great phone, but definately not an iphone killer as it was so branded. If you want a phone that can deliver decent pictures and videos, look no further. But for anything else, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Summary: One of the best camera phones known to man and definately worth a look, but lacks the 'epic' factor
