In terms of functions little has changed and many users will be frustrated by the choice of ring tones. In conclusion the MN-2's compact size and light weight make it a worthy competitor in the entry level market for pay as you talk tariffs, and as such is a good place for a teen to start but those who already own a mobile would probably find this a step backwards. ...more

Premium Review Maxon MN2: good little phone (122 words)
by - written on 27/10/00 (Useful, 185 readings)
Rating:

This is the vodafone maxon MN2, you may not have heard of this phone but it is small light and is available on pay as you talk. You can buy this phone for approximately £60 and it is well worth it. It has the text message facilities and well as being able to send emails (This is only possible if you have an email account with vodafone @ www.vodafone.net)i think then main disadvantages of this phone is that there are a limited number of ring tunes and you are unable to add your own and also that the buttons are very small. All in all i have had no problems with my phone and would recommend it to any body. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Better - yes, Best - no (157 words)

The MN-2 is a big step towards credibility for the Maxon brand. Why it kept the MN prefix in it's model name is a mystery as it is, in looks at least, a vast step forward over it ugly duckling brother the MN-1. The MN-2 is available in stylish colours but the vivid pink screams of a desperate attempt to get noticed. In terms of advances made over the MN-1 the newer MN-2 can claim its significantly smaller size and lighter weight. I have had a maxon 2 for 10 months & it has been back for repairing 4 times in 6 months, once the screen would not display, then the ariel socket broke then the battery, then the sim reciever. However, it has some good ring tones although u cannot personalise the ringtones. It is a very small phone, probably the smallest prepay phone available. Although it cost me £70 they are now available for about £40. It has a batterey life of 3 days. It is available in pink, blue & Slate ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review What a mint fone (96 words)
by - written on 30/10/00 (Somewhat useful, 110 readings)
Rating:

I think this is the best phone on the market! I have had a t28 a 3210 and an 8850 - They are not even in the same least as this little number! It has plenty of feature and for a whole 30 pounds it won't break the bank. Buy this phone now. It is excellent as a present and all your friends and relatives will be green with envy! Buy it before it becomes out of date! I really like the features such as limited amout of ringtones, basic design, no real style, not very hardwearing - what a phone!!!!! ...  Read the complete review
