Advantages: reasonable interface, WAP
Disadvantages: internet connectivity
I have owned and used a Trium Geo for about three months now. Probably the most important thing for me is the service coverage which seems excellent. Much better than my previous Orange phone. Just the occaisional glitch in the depths of a pub or wine bar, but then who wants to get interupted there? The user interface is again an improvement on my previous phone (but it couldn't have been much worse). The ability to add callers directly to the addres list is a great advantage. I still think that designers should look at the interfaces available on PC's and palm PC's for user freindliness. The biggest disapointment is the WAP service, being charged per connection attempt, it quite often takes three or four attempts to connect, with the attendant alarm and diminishing credit balance with no connection forthcoming. The WAP content is growning by the day, but I generally surf that via PC until I find something that I am interested in, then add the bookmark to my phone. It is cheaper, especially with the failed connection scenario mentioned above. I tend not to dial out a lot, using a land line in preference, and with the abolishment of periodicity on the top up vouchers, I have bought 1 in three months. And this was mainly due to the inefficiency of the internet connection. I think call charges on the whole are probably average. So all in all, a big improvement on my previous phone, reasonable user interface, but must try harder on the internet connectivity side. 6/10
