Advantages: Was under £40 when I bought it, Changeable Covers, Small and light
Disadvantages: Internet access is rubbish
The Trium Mars is a well built phone with many options and features, although not quite as great as the Nokia range when it comes down to the number of Covers available. It looks quite good though, as it is small and light. The phone book does exactly what it says on the tin, with many other features. You can store your friend's home, work, and mobile number all under one name, with a selection of icons to represent them. It has plenty of room for SMS text messages. You can save 20 incoming and 20 outgoing messages simultaneously. Another Great feature is a Small 'Dictionary', which predicts what you are typing. It saves a lot of time by doing this. You can find out who has phoned you, and whom you have phoned. I think this would be very useful if you lend it to someone and want to keep track on their use of your phone. You can also do a whole array of other more useful things. You can decide whether or not your phone number is withheld, you can ban incoming calls or outgoing calls, and much more. An option familiar with all phones is the ring tone. The Trium Mars has got 20 ring tones. Not many of them are to my style but there is a wide variety. You can quite easily change your PIN. There are two PINs for the trium mars. A phone PIN and the standard sim card PIN. The phone PIN stops you from accessing the internet without entering it. There are three helpful Office tools. A scratchpad for writing short notes, a very good alarm clock, and a basic currency converter. When the alarm it is set, it goes off even when your phone is switched off. It also has two basic games, push and reshape. In push you are a little penguin ( I think ) and you walk around pushing blocks into the right places, within a certain time limit. Reshape is a game that gives you a combination of shapes, and you must shuffle them around to match a combination they give you. Although, do not be
fooled, it is not as easy as it sounds. It is also WAP activated. WAP is sort of like the Internet but it comes straight onto your mobile. It isn't very efficient. It takes a few minutes just to connect and that's already cost me 30p. The access is so slow too. Some WAP portals offer you free email from your mobile. This is not very great. For starters you have to type the email out with the numeric pad. This is slightly easier with the Trium Mars than some phones but it is still very annoying. I think the Trium Mars is quite a good phone. It is obviously not as good as some Nokia phones but what can you expect for half of the price. I would recommend the Trium Mars to adults and teenagers, although most teenagers would like the more customisable Nokia range.
