Motorola Zine ZN5 is a great looking multimedia phone with lots of stunning features. Let's have a look at the features the phone offers.
The design and look of the phone is great and it really fits in our hand. The phone is 12mm thick and the above part where the camera is located it is a little bulged outward. The screen is perfect and strong that it hasn't got much scratches even after few months of use. There is a small rubber (or some other material like rubber) coating below the keypad of the phone which looked good at first, but after some time it started to disintegrate and now it is totally damaged and looks ugly, I don't know whether it can be replaced. Except that, the design is totally cool. It has also some extra buttons on the keypad which highlights at the required times (Like in Motorola ROCKR E8). Anyway, it isn't as good as in Rockr E8 but is still helpful. It would be better if they hadn't built the memory card slot behind the phone and the thing that makes it worse is that we have to remove the battery to plug or unplug the memory card.
The Kodak camera is the best attraction of this phone. It has got a 5MP Kodak camera with Xenon flash and Auto Focus. The image quality is brilliant with no doubt. I am sure that for normal digital camera users this phone will be enough for taking pictures. The video quality is also superb, it was not much good in dim light but was still up to the expectations. The camera also have a lens which can protect it from external shocks to a certain extend. The 'Gallery Share' feature in the Multimedia helps us to easily upload pictures to the web. You'll need an account to use Gallery share.
There isn't much about music player. It offers every feature that one expects. You can create playlist, play songs in the background etc. The volume is good and the clarity is very good.
The phone has got some great features. The one which mainly cached me was a 350MB internal memory (I used ROCKR E8 before and it had 2GB internal memory). We can also insert micro SD up to 4GB which is pretty enough for my music and video files. It has also got WiFi which is really an important feature these days. I can watch YouTube videos and browse without any disturbance using WiFi. But sometimes the phone had some slow down issues while watching YouTube movies and it won't respond easily when I switch to full screen mode.
I have to admit that the phone is pretty slow and often get hanged. For instance, just after a call if you select the menu it will take some time for menu to pop up and that's really annoying. The phone is much slower when we're doing something (like browsing pictures) while hearing to the music in the background.
The phone has got Bluetooth stereo and for me the call quality is good. The phone is not a 3G phone and if it was for the same price I'm pretty sure that this phone would be a highly recommended one since it offers almost everything a big budget cell phone does.
The phone clarity is the best thing. It has got a very clear and sharp 2.4 inches screen. All my friends who used the phone praised it for the screen sharpness and you are gonna love it if you are a wallpaper geek.
I found this Wireless Backup option in the Tools menu. I never used it and have no idea how it works but I think it is a considerable option for a review.
=== My experience===
After a few months of use (and some external shocks) I noticed that the phone sometimes shut downs automatically when you keep it on surface with a little force. This was annoying and I got it repaired now. I don't know whether anyone else experienced this problem but for me it did happen.
This phone is a good one for its price. And it is highly recommended for the digital camera photographers since they don't need to take a digital camera with them all around if they own this phone.
rely good phone. sound quality is very crisp while listening to some one speaking. using the built in FM radio works great, when you get bored of the music you put on it. the screen resolution and quality isn't that bad, however not amazing when watching movies.
the touch sensitive keys have a nice feel to them and they also add some class to its style. this phone makes a good mp3 player replacement as well, however with its max limit of 4GB memory card it wont replace your ipod.
when your using this phones camera the whole thing appears to turn into one, with the only thing giving it away being the keyboard.
the phone itself is well made however i wouldn't want to drop it. during text this phone gives you the option of predictive texting or ABC ing which not all phones do there's days. since my mum has been using this phone i have had no complaints. when i was using it for a short time u found the battery life not that bad either.. i didn't have to charge it everyday instead it went for about 2 days.
The MOTOZINE ZN5 is built to shoot: it's the only phone to use Kodak Imaging technology and Kodak Perfect Touch technology, which together create brighter, more vivid pictures that you'll want to show off.
The MOTOZINE ZN5 is built to share too: you can upload your photos to the web the instant you take them, or save them to share later on up to 4GB of optional expandable memory. When you're done, with ModeShift technology, just slide across the lens cover and your 5-megapixel camera instantly transforms back to a phone.
