As soon as I clapped eyes on the television screen I knew I HAD to have this phone. I had recently lost my Nokia, and was looking for a bargain. QVC were doing a one-day-only offer and for £35, including P&P and the Orange 'Out Here' package (basically free text messages on a pre-pay phone) it was mine. So, after a fairly lengthy "But it's my biiiirthday soon, and it's a bargain!! Go on, just ring up with your credit card" discussion with my parents, and a few days for delivery, it arrived. My first thought as I opened it was "Eugh. It didn't look like that on the telly." The phone despite being pretty useful with ... Read the complete review

Although Motorola’s future in the mobile phone sector is unsure, I’ve recently picked up a great deal, which is a must for all students if you want the latest mobile phone – wireless application protocol. The Motorola T2288e, available from most mobile phone stores, including stores such as Staples, is a great all-round mobile phone. Available on both Orange’s Just Talk scheme, or BT Cellnet, it offers the usual features, such as a standard 90 name and number telephone directory, and the usual SMS (Short Message Service) features. Many mobile phone reviews have been quick to dismiss the technologically advanced graphical ... Read the complete review

I received this phone as a christmas present, i was expecting less from motorola, they obviously have been listening to what they need to do to meet up to rivals, Nokia. I have nokia 5146 on UK One2One and now the Great Motorola T2288 (talkabout) first, let me start off on comparison between the two phones i have, Nokia first, the 5146 has graphics, and supports operater logos, but just hold it in your hand, with the Talkabout in the other hand and you will notice the difference in weight. also, in comparison with the motorola colorado, m3788e this phone is a great improvement. There has not been any added ring tones, or predictive ... Read the complete review

I've had my T2288 for about 3 months now and its the first time I havn't had a Nokia. I got it because I wanted a WAP phone and at the time it was the only one Cellnet could offer me. I actually got 3 of the things as they messed up the order. The phone is a lovely size, perfect for a handbag person like me. The menu system involves lengthy navigation though and I do miss the features I had with my old Nokia. I wanted a Wap so I could keep in touch but the BBC news (the only site I ever looked at) no longer seems to be on the menus. There are no vaguely interesting ringing tones, I've had to set it to an actual ringing (ring ring) tone and that ... Read the complete review

The Motorola T2288 is not a bad looking phone. I've seen sleeker, lighter ones but its ideal for slipping into a handbag or pocket. As a phone it does the job and its easy to use. You have all the usuall 'phone book' facilities, etc, but as a WAP phone it is far too slow. WAP itself is very slow with speeds of no more that 9000 bps. Yes, that's correct, I got that figure from a mobile phone engineer. So, maybe the lack of speed is not all to do with the phone itself. The screen is so small that its hard to read straightforward text so reading web pages is virtually impossible. As a free phone with WAP capability this is good ... Read the complete review
