On with the review:

COLOUR & DESIGN
----------------------------
The Motorola V220 comes in black, silver and pink.
I have a black phone which is the best colour.
The design of the phone is pretty cool. If you are accustomed to flip phones then this is the phone for you. It is pretty light weighing in at only 3.7 ounces. It is the 2nd lightest phone from Motorola.
In my opinion the colour and design can be modified to suit the customer. The unfortunate thing about this phone is that you cant change the case unlike most Nokia's. The colours could be expanded to include colours like Red, Blue and Green.
Overall i am happy with the colour and design but vast improvements could be made.


EASE OF USE
--------------------
It has big buttons so its pretty easy not to miss a key. The only thing is the navigation, It has a little joypad that this close to the screen. As it being a flip phone it doesnt tilt enough so it has been known to damage the screen.
Navigating around the phone is pretty easy. It has a menu and sub-tree system so its easy to find things.
Overall i like the ease of use and didnt bother reading the instruction manual. It was that easy to use.
Ease of use could be improved by increasing the screen by about 1 and a half inches. That would mean the the accessibility is easier to get to the joypad.


FEATURES
----------------

1) Phone Book - The phone book has a capacity of 120 contacts. You can also store an e-mail for each contact. The only downside to the contact feature is that you cannot store pictures and it wont show it when you have an incoming call. The phone book could be a little larger due to the modernisation of the phone.

2) Text Messaging - It has a capacity of over 70 text messages. You can send and recieve MMS (Multimedia Messages) through the handset. You have 10 preset messages that are called "TEMPLATES". If you are busy just send them a quick message without tapping away for around 10 minutes.
The text message system could be improved with the 70 message capacity. If you text too much then you wont like this phone.

3) Recent Calls - This area stores the phone number dialled, missed and recieved. It also gives call durations. It also records the time that the phone call was made. This is good if you want to find a number that isnt in your Phone Book.

4) Office Tools - It has a calculator which is very easy to use, It has a built in calendar which can be used to add things like birthdays and meetings with friends or colleagues, It also has an alarm clock which is good if you dont have a alarm clock by your bed. It is quite loud and you can set it to any time and the alarm will sound.

5) Games & Applications - This phone is pretty much like the 3G phones. Yes you can download JAVA ready applications to your mobile phone. The preset games are; HUNGRY FISH (The object of this game is to eat fishes to get the highscore. There is also a chance that it could die of starvation), OPEITOUT (The object of this game is to clear the screen with as much time as possible left. Its a nibblers paradise), FOTOFUNPACK2 (Mod your photos that you took with the camera and mess them up a little bit. This is application is pretty cool.

WEB ACCESS

You can access WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) through this mobile phone. Depending on what network you are you this should be charged at around 2p per minute. You can visit external websites. The only problem with this is the screen is not big enough to display normal WWW extentions. Most extensions on the phones being with WAP. Its pretty good but would only recommend this if you are bored and have nothing to do.

MULTIMEDIA
------------------

1) Themes - You can change the colour on the screen. You have a selection of Purple, Blue, Red, Orange and Green. Changing a theme on your phone can also change your wallpaper and your ringing tunes. I would recommend this as it will make the phone yours and not as common as other peoples.

2) Camera - It has a built in camera on the front of the phone. Unlike most camera phones you cannot switch the view from the outside camera to the outside. The camera can also be auto-timed to go off when you want to. It also has funny sounds when you take the picture. The only thing the camera cannot do is take video's. This is pretty poor for a camera phone as it ruins the other features. The photos dont even come out in high quality. I would say that the camera put in is the cheapest one that the manufacturers could get.

3) Pictures - In this area you can view, adjust and delete your phones pictures. Please note that you might be doing this alot as the phone only has a 1.8MB memory and each picture takes alot of space. The features are not pretty good for the Pictures Area as there could be alot more added. They could put a little bit of software in it to edit and maybe a memory card slot for more storage.

4) Sounds - This is where your ringtones are kept. The good thing about it is that it opens in its own media player which is cool. Its not good enough for music (MP3 & MP4's) but it can play ringtones. You can also download ringtones that are compatible with the phone. The sounds area could be better with customizable ringtones and mayble a little character dancing when the music is playing.

5) Moto Mixer - It has a built in Moto Mixer which can be used to edit only one song. At the moment you can only adjust the synthesizers, drums and bass. Its pretty poor for a little phone.

6) Video's - This area is so you can download content from the WAP sites. You cant take video's with the phone so downloading them is the only way you can use this feature. Its pretty poor for a mobile phone manufacturer.

INSTANT MESSAGING
-------------------------------

You can send and recieve instant messages using the messenger they have crammed into the phone. All we know is that it is expensive to use and we are not inclined to try it.

SETTINGS
---------------

In this area you can personalise your mobile phone and secure it from any unauthorised people. Not many personalisation features here though. You can change your ringtone, set your wallpaper and put in lock codes. They could have improved on it but overall i think this area is pretty poor.
