Advantages: Looks good, cheap and cheerful.
Disadvantages: Murder to find the correct drivers to download/upload stuff .
I purchased this phone on a bit of a whim really, the model I was after was out of stock and this was the closest available.
Upon opening the box I discovered that this phone comes complete with the holy of holys, its own data cable, so no messing about trying to buy one!
The phone itself when closed is around the size of a credit card and when open is double that (obviously!).
This phone I found, is extremly light for a camera phne and is quite pleasing on the eye also.
The screen is good quality colour and is effective in most lights, apart from strong sunlight. The screen is also sufficiently large.
The keypad has solid keys (great, the numbers will not rub off) and is well designed. The only problem I have discovered is that the arrow keys are a little awkward.
The camera is of sufficient quality but won't win any awards, it features a zoom and contrast control. The mirror around the lens is a nice touch and aids in those drunken self-portraits.
The phone comes pre-loaded with a good selection of polyphonic ringtones, some of which really are quite catchy! Also included in the package are the usual calendars, alarm functions etc.
The V220 also allows you to upload videos to the phone, and this brings us to the dreaded motorola drivers mystery!
It makes you wonder what goes through the minds of phone makers when they fail to include a disc of drivers for a piece of hardware, or even make it plug and play, I ask you, what good is an included data cable if you have no drivers to make it work?
After much trawling of the net the relevent drivers are obtainable but be prepared to spend time searching and unless you have decent broadband, find yourself something to do as you are in for a long wait!
After you manage to find the drivers it is easy to transfer pictures and videos to and from the phone, but you may find yourself asking if the hassle is worth it.
All in all a good, sturdy little phone that does what it claims.
Summary: A nice little phone. Not too fancy. Does the job.
