Starting as a newbie with Motorola (Motorola V220)

Advantages: Clam Shell, protects phone and accidental key presses whilst in your garment;

Disadvantages: English manual is quite technical and for those with short sight, difficult to read

Purchased a Motorola V220 yesterday, found the manual rather technical, and somewhat daunting to start with. Moved from Nokia to Motorola as my past 3 Nokia phones have failed for technical reasons; Wanted a quality name for next phone. To me a mobile phone is a phone and nothing more. If I wanted a washing machine I would purchase a washing machine not a mobile phone, with a washer/dryer application on it. This phone has a camera on it, with apparently 4 x Digital Zoom on it. I have a digital Camera to take photo`s, so the camera on the phone is useless to me. This phone allows MP3 ringtones, which sound tiny (Not suprised - its a telephone not a music player); polyphonic ringtones and offers various download options for games, music and graphics.

Reliability, I am not certain about this yet; but will report on how it survives in my trouser pocket over the next few weeks or so.

Apparently it has WAP, which is the Internet for Mobile Phones; I would stick with a PC for the internet, and certainly not use a mobile phone.

I will report back on any other goodies or failures that I have found using this phone over the next few weeks.

Summary: Its a mobile phone - good branded name - with a camera - reliability still in question - learning
