Advantages: This phone is very easy to use and looks nice
Disadvantages: Sometimes the phone goes a little bit crackly
When I needed a new phone I decided I only wanted a basic one because I don't use it very often. I saw the Motorola V220 in a phone shop by me and it had been reduced to £35 so I brought it. The man in the shop had told me it is one of the easiest phones to use.
I am very pleased with it. There are plenty of basic ringtones to choose from and I can also download more if I want to which I don't. The ringtone volume is very easy to set from either the menu or 2 buttons on the side of the handset and I have mine loud because I keep my phone in my handbag and cannot always hear it if it is set too low.
The battery life is very good and each charge lasts for about 3 or 4 days.
When I am speaking to someone the signal is good but sometimes it goes very crackly and I cannot hear what the other person is saying.
I like that the V220 is not packed with features that I do not need or want. I like to text my grandaughters in the evening to see how they have got on at school and I think this phone is very easy to text on. I have turned off the predictive text because I cannot use it without wanting to throw the phone through the window. The phone is very easy to use and I find the menu is set out in a nice way that means I can get to where I want to be straight away with not too much messing about.
I like the way I can personalise my V220 because when I first turned it on the shortcuts were ones I would rarely use. I have changed it so that I can easily get to the phone book and camera and other fuctions personal to me at the touch of one button.
The camera is good for the price of the phone and it stores quite a lot of pictures before the memory is full. There is no video camera but it does play videos with sound so I can use the USB cable to download and videos I want from my PC.
There are 2 games already on this phone when I brought it and my favourite is a fun little game called Hungry Fish where I have to control my little fish and make him bigger by helping him to eat lots of smaller fish. My high score on this game is 193 and I was very pleased about that. There is also a little photo editing programme where I can put borders around photos I have taken and change the look of the pictures.
I do like this phone. It looks nice and being a flip it means I cannot accidentally phone somebody when the phone is in my pocket or my handbag. The alarm clock is handy for waking me up and I sometimes set it to go off when I have an appointment as well because I can't get to grips with the calender aspect of this phone. My son in law says it is the rubbishest phone he has ever seen but him and my daughter paid nearly £300 for each of their phones and mine cost £35 so who is laughing now?
