... fallen off after I put it down on a table too hard, so very cheaply put together. Infact if you speak to other DB2000 users, 90% have suffered the same problem. The phone now does find it difficult to find the network and is lazy in holding a call. This handset is still a good phone for those wanting a cheap, good-looking, slim mobile with a few extra features thrown in. ...more

Premium Review NEC DB2000: Call Me! (431 words)

Rating:

I've had my NEC db2000 for well over a year now. Fed up with finding that my last phone had died on me *just* when I wanted to make that vital call, this phone was chosen chiefly for its' outstanding battery life and quick charge facility. With a standby time of up to *12* days alongside up to 8 hours talk time, this was definitely the phone for me! In addition to its' reliability, it has a quick charge facility, and provided you charge it within a reasonable space of time after the battery warning light first goes on, it will recharge fully in around 1 1/2 hours! For me the above factors alone are enough for me to remain extremely happy ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Average phone, cant match even base model Nokias! (289 words)

When I bought my NEC DB2000 I was quite excited as I had never owned a phone as slim, light and posh as this! The phone has a good battery life from a standard lithium-Ion battery, as well as Vibra-call, fax/data function, dual-band facility, and is very light weight. When I first started using the phone, I was quite happy with the reception, the way it holds calls and how clear they were, also benefitting from EFR, which is a feature that my network One2one uses to enhance call quality. However I am now six months down the line with this handset and its long due for replacement! The main awkward points about this phone are to begin with - ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review NEC DB2000: Don't Buy 2000 (374 words)

I have owned one of these little phones for a year and a half. This was my 2nd phone on One 2 One and was actually an improvement on my Motorola C520, which I used for 1 week. I’m not going to be too sceptical, because I don’t think people realise that a bad Network and phone combination can make things worse. When I first saw the DB2000, it was very original and pretty in design and very compact even compared to the latest phones now. Good Points The menu system is superb and more user friendly than Nokia 3210(which I hate), Motorola C520, Ericsson T20 and Samsung SGH600 which are all phones that I have used. The message menu and settings ...  Read the complete review

Top of its class! (145 words)

The most obvious advantage of this phone when comparing it with others of its class like the Nokia 5110, Siemen C25, Erisson A1018 and Panasonic GD30 is that it has a better battery. You can get a talk time up to 200 minutes and the size of the phone is not too big and bulky. In fact, it looked quite slim with the exception of the antenna. The only disadvantage is that you need to pull the rubber antenna out when talking to get a clearer reception. Otherwise the design and durability are pretty excellent. This phone only requires about 1 and 1/2 hour for charging which again saves your time. it is also really light, only 127g. The best thing is that you can get it for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review NEC DB2000: NEC 2000 (111 words)

The NEC DB 2000 comes with a slimline silver fascia which I most definitely approve of, the screen is clear and has excellent back illuminatio. The number buttons are clear and tactile however their colour slightly spoils the aesthetic of the phone which is still impresive. The call quality is slightly changeable indoors and often suffers from mild interfernce. The vibrate option has stood me in good stead although its not a nice noise if you leave it on something metal. The features on the phone are useful if unspectacular, there are no games but there are are fair number of useful options such as multiple call rings depending upon caller ID. ...  Read the complete review
