Advantages: see opinion
Disadvantages: hmmmmm none
The NEC DB4000 is the phone I bought as a replacement for my Nokia 3310 (check out the op)and I was looking for a phone that done 3 things. 1) I could ring people, sounds stupid but I don't care wheter it has all the latest features and wheter you can have games on it. 2) Send SMS. I am addicted to these, I can't stop sending them because it is easier than a phone call if your mad people can't hear the tone in your voice!! 3) Looked nice and I get that with the NEC DB4000. So I went down to my Town centre which doesn't have much (another op for you to read!!) and I set my heart on finding a phone which cost no more than £70, it was the middle of the month and I couldn't wait till pay day!! A new mobile phone store had opened in the town and they were offering 10% off everything as an opening promotion sale, so I checked it out. After looking around and listening to the man talk about tariffs, and all what would suit me, yadda yadda, I saw this phone. 10 minutes later I had signed some papers and picked up my new phone. Like an excited little boy, I ran home and got it out of it's box and flipped through the instructions booklet eager to get started. I got through it all and have had the phone for about a month now and I am still very pleased with it. The features are very good and aren't over the top with even a microwave and kettle which will probably be included on the new nokia! Messages 160 characters which can get frustrating when you have to send two messages to speak with someone. It is like your basic SMS section on a phone, very easy to use and if you have owned a mobile before is quite seelf explainitory. View Calls Keeps a record of the last ten people who have called you, you have called, and also missed calls which is very helpful to look back on when you need to see who has been trying to get hold of you. Divert You can divert calls for different times.
All Calls, if your busy and don't want to answer the phone. No reply, when the phone just rings a certain number of times and isn't answered. Busy, when you are talking to someone else the other caller will be diverted. Power off, when your phone is off, they will be diverted instantly. To see if you have voice mail hold down the 1 button, very easy. Barring You can block certain numbers from ringing you by activating this barring system. Also you can bar certain numbers that can ring, don't really know why you would do this!! Call Timer View the times of your last call, all calls, outgoing, and incoming. See if your popular and recieving more than your making!! Clock Set the time which is displayed on the front screen along with the date and day, if your forgetful! Also has an alarm feature which is very loud and can wake the likes of me! Also choose if you want your clock to be displayed as a 12 or 24 hour clock. Tones Nothing to fancy, and you can't download tones or have them sent to you. Also you can set to silent for when you don't want your phone to be heard. Also this has a vibrating function which can be handy when sat in a meeting you know when someone is trying to get hold of you. Setup This is where you decide all things such as will you have password access, network, language, greeting etc. I have set it up so that when you flip the flip open it answers the call and when you shut it, the call is ended, classy! So I have to say if your looking for a phone that isn't overpacked with features and is a nice simple phone then get the NEC DB4000. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed. Seymour :o)
