This is by far the best phone I owned to date. I usually buy my cellular phones to do just that: call people. I don't have any particular use for the oh so many functions in modern phones. As I said on my review of the Nokia 2630, I want a phone that is small and lightweight, simple to use and that has a loooong battery life. The Nokia 2310 has it all.
The menus still keep the simplicity of the older monochrome models and you can reach any function with just a few clicks. The color screen is a nice addition, although its low resolution is no improvement over the monochrome screens. It is also rather small but does the job. One nice feature that has saved me hours of boredom in aeroports is the FM radio, that is if I didn't forget the Nokia headphones, normal headphones will not work...
The keys could have been a little bit bigger but you get used to them quickly. It is also very ligt at only about 80g or so.
My favorite feature on this phone is, definitly, the battery life. A full charge could keep me almost two weeks away from the charger, and that is with the phone on 24/7. Of course I'm not a big of a talker but I do send a lot of text messages.
Unfortunately I need to move around more and this meant getting different SIM cards which I cannot fit in because you cannot easily unlock the phone... So I exchanged it for the 2630. What a step back that was...
For work purposes only! It is functional and literally does just what you expect of a phone - allow to you be in contact with people.
At 105.4 x 43.9 x 19.1 mm and weighing just 85g, it can fit snugly in your pocket with your other, more up to date, stylish device. The screen itself gives a display size of 96 x 68 pixels, 4 lines, 1.5 inches, which is adequate to receive/make calls and send basic text messages. You can choose from 6 profiles - general, silent, discreet, loud, lights only and your own unique style. The very handy feature of just pressing one button to access these is useful, as my work typically requires me to go from one profile to the other - on the move all the time.
You can save 200 entries in your phone book, which I must admit, I haven't even got up to half that capacity yet, so this is more than enough. The phone keeps a log of the last 10 dialed, 10 received, 10 missed calls, which, again is handy, if you're job involves moving around alot, and being able to recall calls you made, or received.
The phone has an internal memory of 4GB, which, considering how there's no camera etc, is plentiful. One feature which I think is great, is the FM radio - the sound quality is brilliant, once you've caught the signal.
There are 3 games included - Nature Park, Snake Xenia, Bounce, of which Snake is the one I tend to play.
6 hours talktime and up to 400 hours standby, once charged, you're ready to go! Also, the actual phone can withstand some serious battering. I have dropped it that many times, I often wonder how it survives! You can purchase this phone for a very reasonable £44.99 from Amazon.
Nokia 2310 V5.10 is a very simple phone. My mother has been using this phone for over four (4) months now. The phone has all the basic features, such as sending messages, contacts, call register, settings, alarm clock, radio, reminders, Games, extras etc. The phone looks very attractive in the silvery casing.
Nokia 2310 is not an expensive phone and can be used by beginners to phone. The games of Nokia 2310 are very interesting, which can keep one busy most of the time.
A good feature of this phone is that, it can receive signals in low network areas. Also, the phone uses less battery.
The Nokia 2310 phone does not have very advanced functions. The Nokia 2310 phone lacks a Camera, Bluetooth and infrared functions.
The buttons of the Nokia 2310 are very soft and easy to press. The phone can be connected to computer, using its cable.
Another good feature of this phone is that, it has got an inbuilt radio in it, so one can easily catch up with the latest updates of current affairs wherever he/she is.
Generally, the phone is simple and can be used by individuals who want to use multiple Sims for different network providers i.e. want to have more than one phone.
Nokia is a king with its excellent lower level budget phones. Previously Nokia 2300 got good response with all over the world and now the 2310 has been launched with better design and look but there is nothing measure upgradation over its previous model.
Design and look
Phone is completely meant for call purpose only so that good features related to call available but there is not such advance features has been provided. Design and look is average but better than its previous 2300 model. Phone has been measured with 105.4 x 43.9 x 19.1 mm, and the total weight is about 85 g. id we consider its thickness than it is very high than average 15mm it means phone is very thick. But the weight is average with 85 gm and phone is handy and pockatable enough.
Phone has been upgraded in terms of its display color screen instead of black and white with 96 x 68 pixels, 4 lines display. In this category of completely budget phone it is good feature with 65k color screen instead of previous black and white tradition.
It has 4Mb of total shared memory for data, contacts, messages and java applications. Phone has good internal memory in its category with compare to other lower range phone and their common 2 MB of total memory. Phone can store up to 200 phonebook entries and it can keep 10 call record for each category, in dialed, receiver and missed call.
Phone doesn't support any connectivity solutions and I think this is a measure disadvantage in this phone. At least GPRS connectivity is required in lower level budget phone also. And it will be better that one GPRS and one infrared connectivity should be provided.
Other important feature are FM radio, and this is the good feature in this phone where you can enjoy music on FM in lower level phone, and now a days all manufacturers are trying to keep FM radio in every model of phone to give a necessary feature. Phone also has a built in handsfree, and some other important applications like calculator, stopwatch, T9 dictionary etc.
The best and the best feature about the phone is its excellent power back-up with Standard battery, Li-Ion 970 mAh (BL-5C), and I was able to get more than 6 hours of talktime with this battery. If you are a average user of phone and use this phone to talk average 2 hours daily than you need not to charge this battery for at least 3 days.
Over all this is a good lower level budget phone with superb battery back-up and FM radio for your entertainment. Recommended.
Do you ever get bored of all those gimmiky phones out there? If so then the Nokia 2310 is for you. At only £19.99 this phone is a steal for anyone who just wants a phone to do what a phone should : Ring and text. I went through a period last year were I kept breaking or misplacing phones and I couldnt afford to keep buying new ones and it was at this time that I discovered the Nokia 2310.
The Pros: I bought this phone at the Carphone Warehouse and it came unlocked which was brilliant because I could put my old sim card in it without any hassle. The phone itself it quite small and weighs about 85g. It has a colour screen and a built in radio although I only used this about once I can see the advantage for those who like to have some sort of music with them but dont want to be carrying an MP3 player around. The battery life on this phone, as with many old style Nokias, is brilliant lasting anywhere up to a week and being relativly quick to charge. The phone itself is very robust - I dropped it many times but it never had so much as a scratch on it and showed no signs of breaking. Basically this phone does what it says on the tin - it works. It has a really simple layout which is really easy to get around and retains some classic nokia features such as snake and the original Nokia ring tone! You can still make the phone your own by downloading ring tones and putting a welcome note for when you turn it on. This phone also takes a classic Nokia charger which is good if you lose it as you can pick a new one up on ebay very cheap due to the large number of phones that use them. The quality of the phone is brilliant and you can adjust the volume when making calls making it easier to hear people if you are in a busy place.
The Cons: The phone to my knowledge only comes in Blue which for some people can be a bit of a turn off as it is not the most attractive blue. The phone doesnt have predictive text and it can be quite difficult to switch back to manual text if you have got used to a newer model phone and it does make it slower to send messages to people.
Overall this phone is brilliant I have never had any problems in using it and the price is so cheap that if you were to break it chances are you could replace it without breaking the bank! It went down in price to being one of the cheapest phones on the market. This phone is for those people who just want a phone to be a phone, not a a camera or video recorder or an mp3 player just a phone. Its sturdy and lightweight and easy to use and its pro's far outweigh the cons if this is the sort of thing you are looking to buy. Its not an exciting phone but it is a useful phone which wont break easily and can be easily replaced.
A neat, affordable mobile phone which for around £45 on a pay as you go, you really can't go wrong.
This affordable phone does not feature a camera or WAP but does offer text and picture messaging. The quality of the lcd screen is basic and not of high resolution but as this phone is only £45 what would you expect.
What it does do it does well and is an ideal phone for someone not 100% comfortable with complicated gadgets so would suit that person who just want to make a call and text without hundreds of menu options to trawl through and a hundred page user guide! The phone is also very light and fairly modern in design.
I have found the phone good value and very simple to operate. So, to sum things up, if you don't want a camera or internet access and just want to do what a phone was invented for, then this is the ideal phone for you.
