Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Bad keypad, slow response

Nokia is known for its quality and user friendly phones. The Finnish giant has something to offer for almost everyone. When I first saw Nokia's 2610, I really liked the design. It had a nice black and silver plastic finish and looked pretty neat.

The menu is pretty simple and is typical Nokia style, so to say. But when I started using it, I was a bit disappointed. I am a chronic chain texter, texting 24/7. For that, speed of the menu, response of the dictionary and the keypad are what that matter. But Nokia 2610 didn't live up to the expectation. My typing was much faster that the response and the letters would take some time to appear on the screen. It was kinda frustrating watching each letter appear on the screen. Then the keypad was not comfortable enough. With small keys, or maybe its the design but I would get many wrong presses.

Another thing was the screen. It seemed like Nokia wanted to give the feel of a larger screen with a small screen, so they ended up adding an option for small fonts, which would look good to some people but for me, added with the slow response, it was a disaster!

But with comparatively low price, the phone is still nice for the average user. It comes with java support, as is any other phone with a colored screen, so one can play some games to kill those extra minutes at office or school but again, the keypad can be an issue here.

Summary: Get it if you need a coloured screen to make calls only.
