This is probably about as good as the old-style flip-top phones got, and it surpasses the early smartphones on all the fundamentals. Making and receiving calls is easy, especially automated calls which are well-suited to the keys. Sending texts via the numeric pad entry system is fine too - waiting for letters to appear quickly becomes second nature, and it's much harder to ruin a message with an inadvertent press than on a touchscreen. Everything is much more instinctive to use than on later phones, and the battery life is far superior - 3-4 days of fairly heavy usage is common, so having to charge my smartphone every night was a bit of a culture shock. The calendar is probably the best of the 'luxury' features, easy to use and fairly powerful. Not many games are available but the included ones are pretty good, my favourite being Block'd, a fast-paced tile-matching game which filled many a bus journey and launderette wait. Email and internet functions are a bit haphazard however, and the camera is laughably bad - these are the features which make me glad I've now got something more expensive. If you're looking for a first phone which does the basics, this and similar models are still fine however.
This mobile has one of the best battery lifes on phones at the moment because of the way of how it is so simple yet it means that there are some features that are not on this phone which lets it down . For example you can use something like a memory card slot which means that the memory is not good and you cannot download many things or store images videos without the phoning slowing down considerably and also the quality of the phone is not very good compared to others as it is pixelated and to add to this it can often distort the image that ti is displaying. Unfortunately I have to say this isn't a good buy because it isn't cost effective (the fact it is 54.99 shows that it is more of a marketing campaign than anything else) and also it can be interpreted that this has been used to make money rather than giving a good quality phone
Well there isn't much to say on the nokia 2720 it has great battery life no memory card slot it has a 1.3 megapixel camera bluetooth GPRS,EDGE it has a slow internet conection it's a begginers phone the quality of course is average it has a problem with the plastic it scratches verry easy and the baterry cover comes down on it's own so not much to say on the nokia 2720 if you have a limited budget or if you are searching for a phone to use at work this is the phone for you
With all the recent hubbub over smart phones with large screens and speedy processors, the old-school phone segment has been relatively ignored. This is a shame, because with a phone like the 2720, you really can't go far wrong - well it's not the manliest phone on the planet, but it does the job (and for the price, come on). Straight up, it looks quite good and it fits snugly in your jean pocket and feels solid - perfect for a night on the town when you don't want to risk a different phone to pickpockets or your own mishap! For where it matters, there is a video camera with recording, though I found this to be a tad grainy and unreceptive in dark spaces, in contrast to the brightness of the screen, which was very good under all conditions. Call quality is top notch, though I did have quite a lot of interference last night. This may have just been down to a bad location for reception, or the fact that I managed to spill a beer on it - I guess I'll have to report back on this to let you know how it holds out.
The first great feature of this mobile phone is the actual battery life, I've had phones in the past that would stay charged for maybe two or three days max with heavy use. But this phone keeps its charge for over 3 or 4 days, no matter how much time you spend on phone calls or texting your friends. The reception during phone calls is also very good and the single strength is always near the maximum, no matter where I am during my travels. Though this may entirely be dependant on which mobile phone network you choose. The phone has a black stylish finish and is a folding phone so you don't have to worry about locking the keypad in case of accidental unwanted phone dialling that wastes your pay as you go credit. The overall design of the phone is robust and can take some wear and tear when being clattered around in your pocket or when accidentally dropped on the floor. There is also a nice display when you close the phone, that lights up and displays the time and any incoming calls. The largeness of the buttons make this phone ideal for men with chunky fingers or people who have difficulty seeing the often tiny numbers on other phones. The phone though basic also has internet functionality, a 1.3 mega-pixel camera, FM radio and some other useful features. If you are looking for a very basic but functional phone, that is durable and has a good battery life that you can make phone calls and send a few texts with ease, then I would highly recommend you purchase this mobile phone.
I opted for this mobile phone after owning several touch screen and flip phones, that were either far too user unfriendly or just simply had bad reception or a short battery life thanks to the many often unnecessary features. This time I was really looking for an nice simply phone with very basic functions, with a battery that would stay charged all day and a mobile that was unlocked to any pay as you go network. I bought this phone, as I didn't need any extra features, besides to text and talk.At its current price, it was one of the cheapest phones that I could purchase. The reason that I chose a flip screen, was I had a touch screen phone and several button phones, beforehand.Eventhough I had bought covers for the phones, I ended up not using them either because the hassle it took to get them on or simply forgeting them.My problem was, when my phone was in my pocket, I was constantly ringing people on my contacts without meaning to, or dialling random numbers on my keypad, which needless to say did arouse trouble and unwanted sceanarios to say in the least! Therefore, the solution I came to was to have a phone that has to be constantly closed, without much effort put into actually closing it! The phone has excellent reception, and all of its features are simple and easy to use.I was particulary impressed by the quality of its sound, as it is sharp and clear.Admittedly the camera is poor and if possible I try not to use it, as the picture taken is difficult to make out. The outside screen tells you the time, battery status and if you have received a message or not, which is very useful. There is not any space in between the buttons, however it is easy to text. After many trials-though most unintentional, I can clarify that the phone IS veryv durable.Althogh the only thing that I would recommend caution to be taken upon, is when inserting the charger.Insert it gently, otherwise the socket may eventually come out, and the battery cannot be charged leaving you phoneless! The above did happen with me, and as the phone was past warranty, I had to buy a new phone, at my expense! Overall, the phone is simple to use as it is not complicated by extra features.I would recommend it for those who want a phone to text and call, with mainly the added bonus. It is durable, and should last a long time, if caution is taken with it!It is definitely value for money nd should be perfect if suited to your needs.
The phone is a good size, performance and ease of use. But I'm getting another phone to replace him, because I can not hear well enough. My phone is Motorola's latest book and the volume level was great. This is totally inadequate. In addition, when using this phone, the person at the other end says they have difficulty understanding because it picks up and amplifies the background noise. Cars driving in front of my house when I'm in the backyard that is unbearable for the person I'm talking about. No matter how good the features and the price of $ 10), if this does not work well as a cell phone, not worth it. By the way, I love the CC and is a great service!
One of the least durable phones Nokia has made. The flip joint is made from very weak and poorly designed plastic which may crack from holding up to ones head. The flexible electronic sheeting inside the joint cracks easily as well. Having owned many Nokias and been very pleased with the ruggedness of the brand, this phone has been a let down. At such a low cost, one can't expect much but its also not worth sending in for warranty repair. Pass on this phone for many others in its price range. THE GOOD: Honestly it's not a bad phone. it's durable. my little cousin threw mine across the room and it hit the wall then spun on the hardwood floor. i freaked out but when i picked it up it was fine. like COMPLETELY fine. if that was my old razor it would have disintegrated on impact. it has lasted me four years so far. THE BAD: I didn't have a problem with it till two years ago. i had taken my sim card out and put it in my mums phone bcuz we were on a trip and my phone was about to die and i couldn't charge it in the car. after i switched back though every time i hit the red "end" button or if i went onto my regular background screen the phone would turn off. then turn to a white screen. then come back to life. now it didn't bother me at first bcuz i had set the feature that lets you open and close the phone without exiting what you are doing. so the end button was rarely used bcuz i would always close my phone to hang up calls. but after a while the phone returned to normal. THEN one day it randomly started doing it again. but this time even if i closed the phone to hang up it would still reset...UNLESS...i had another screen open. it became a habit then to open my text messages during a call so my phone wouldnt reset. but after my phone was dead for about four days when my charger broke when i finally got it charged with my new charger the problem stopped and so far hasnt come back. NOW THIS NEXT IS A BAD AND KIND OF A GOOD BCUZ IT SPEAKS OF DURABILITY...the bad is my phone randomly broke in half. like when it was open it made a 45 degree angle. the good is the dang thing is so durable that i was able to straighten it and tape it together. now i cant close it but it still works. and its lasted about three months like this.
An excellent design by Nokia. It has an attractive sleek, sexy and elegant style which wouldn't be out of place in the higher end designer products. This phone doesn't just look great but it is very simple to use and didn't even phase my technophobe grandma, who I bought it for. It has the usual simple Nokia operating system which has been tried and tested by Nokia over the last decade. The 1.3 megapixel camera isn't the best for taking the clearest photographs but is good enough for the everyday fun photo messages between phones. I have even managed to print out a few snaps I have taken and was impressed with the clarity which was far greater than I would have expected. As I bought this phone to use as an old fashioned talk and text phone the battery lasts very well and only needs charging every 3 - 4 days, which cannot be said for my smartphone! Very impressed with this product, I would recommend to anyone who wants a simple phone to do simple things without compromising on style and quality.
I love love Nokia mobile phones. From the very first one I've ever had (3210 no less), they haven't changed a bit. They are simple to use, the styke never changes, menus are always the same and are just generally consistent to no end. In a world where I Phones & Smart Phones are all the rage, this little beauty could very easily get swallowed up by the market or even left behind for ever. No chance! I bought this phone for my boyfriends father for his birthday. Being a typical elderly gentleman, he had no concept of current technologies or mobile phones. So simple, easy and effective was the word of the day. It was big enough not to get lost and small enough not to be a nuisance, perfect. As it was a flip phone, John thought he had died and gone to heaven - 'just like on tv' he kept repeating. At first, it was difficult to get used to, for a man who wasn't up to date with technology. But after a week or so of constant use, he could text and call, use his phonebook without any problems. There are other menu options on the phone such as gaming, internet and even a camera, as per any modern day phone. We have yet to get to those however. We will leave the camera and instant messenging for another week.
Great phone for the cost, well worth the money! The battery life is longer than my iphone! Easy to use, decent keypad for texting etc. The appearance is also great as it has a shiny black cover. The only disadvantage is obviously the fact that there are no applications that can be bought from an applications store, only a few games can be purchased. Also the screen is not great, the colour looks dark, dull and weird on screen but for £40 you can not go wrong. The buttons on the keypad are big, this makes texting a whole lot easier as the phone is already quite fast. The phone is of a decent size, can fit into any pocket and is not too big and not too heavy. The phone has lasted me very long which is very important, I have owned this model for 3 years and is still working although not in current use.
Plus: Long battery life, Good call quality, very easy to navigate, easy keys and has features like camera, Bluetooth, video recording and an FM radio. The screen display is also clear and good. All that one can ask for from a basic mobile phone at this price and above all a Nokia. Minus: Camera picture quality is not very good. Music player is also not great. Documentation that comes with the phone is not very easy to understand and makes the phone look more complicated that it actually is. All in all I will recommend this to anyone who is after a basic flip phone which is strong and durable (you can drop it many times and it will continue to work :-)) This phone is value for money with good usability, easy navigation and clear screen display. In fact the first full battery charge lasts for days more than expected. It has everything we can ask for a Nokia basic handset.
My husband was really fed up with his Motorola phone, he just couldn´t cope with the little clicky buttons and texting became interspersed with expletives and general bad temper. At last I could stand it any longer and I added up my phone points and headed off to the phone shop. In this case telefonica in Spain. The girls in the shop know me well and I implored them to sort out Captain Springtide for all our sakes. All he wanted was a phone to make calls and send texts. That is it, anything else was a waste of time as he never uses any other functions. One other criteria was that it should be a fold type phone to avoid any bashes when thrashing about on boats. Sleak and Smooth. The phone they came up with was the Nokia 2720 Fold. Sleak, black and shiny it fits snugly in the hand and at around 50pounds, it looks more expensive than it is ,It is very simple to use and he can see and use the buttons! Without hesitation I cashed in my points and over the last 6 months it has not given us a spot of trouble. Here are,( in our opinion, because I often use it too) its strong points. Good protection due to the neat fitting fold cover. Easy to charge, half an hour in the morning lasts all day with a very moderate use. When you plug in the charger it clearly shows on a screen on the outside of the phone, the state of the battery , the signal strength and in BIG numbers. the time. The inside screen is an easy to read blue letters on white, the menu is clearly displayed and it is very easy to navigate . The touch pad is silver and the easiest that, in my limited experience, that I have used . You are never in any doubt as to what key you have pressed and the black lettering stands out well on the silver background. The central , "select" button is surrounded by frame which you press to go , up down left and right, and it does! The only other key on the touch pad are the green phone to make a call and the red to end one and two buttons to select option and exit. Simple. The main menu consists of the normal organiser, contacts , log ,web, messaging, gallery applications etc but all we use it for is to make calls and texts both functions which it performs very simply. I have even got my 87 year old dad to send a text on this! My Opinion. For us it is a simple and effective simple phone which serves us well. It does have a 1.3mega pixel camera which I have never had the need to use and truly would not miss this function at all, why bother with a camera at all? It has certainly sorted out our phone needs and I would recommend it to someone who wants a simple, not expensive, mobile for calls and texts with the emphasis on ease of use. Here are some of its main features as shown by Amazon. 1.3 megapixel video camera with full screen view finder Email, SMS, MMS and instant messenger FM radio Integrated handsfree speakerphone Hidden till lit outer screen 4 stars from us! The full list of functions are available from Amazon but as we haven´t used them I cant comment on their quality. Available widely for around 50pounds, ( I got ours with my phone points).
