Advantages: Strong, sturdy, won't let you down
Disadvantages: Hardly cutting edge
The first really popular mobile, the phone that broke through and made phones an essential accessory.
It's quite strange to think that the 3210 was something to be seen with around ten years ago. Sleek, stylish and a host of features this was the phone to have!
Of course times have changed, no longer is a phone required to just keep in touch. E-mails need sending, pictures sending, websites read, games played, music downloaded. In comparison to todays phones the 3210 is big, brash and ugly with limited features.
That said for a phone that was around ten years ago, it isn't all that bad at all! It's such a cliche saying but they don't make them like they used to anymore. Can you imagine your touchscreen, slide function, WAP 3G, 4oz phone with whatever megapixel camera last ten years? Most do well to last two years, ironic considering the vogue for 24 month contracts!
With 3 months left to go on your contract and with a broken phone it's always the case that you dig through the drawers and look for an old phone to get you through until you can get an upgrade. As you root deeper and deeper you tend to find broken phone after broken phone, those not broken have worn out keypads, scratched screens, worn out batteries... AH the 3210 right at the back. Big, brash and ugly but hey it'll do the job. The battery still works well enough, the keypad might be a bit wonky but it's better than the other discarded phones. Fair enough it'll drive you crazy having to delete your inbox when it becomes full after 10 whole messages but it's better than nothing at all, surely?
What's the betting you'll rediscover your snake addiction too?
Summary: As a back-up phone there's little better out there.
