Advantages: Great and easy to use.
Disadvantages: None
I loved this phone when this first came out. The nokia 3220 looked so different from the rest and was in a way. I think that this phone was the first phone to bring wave messages and i have never seen another phone or heard about one that has this feature. I reckon with all the features and lights and games that are on this phone i would say that this is targeted at teenagers or young adults. The nokia 3220 has been around now since last year. That’s when i had mine. I will say though that mine i had for a couple of months about 3 I think and it soon gets very annoying.
Nokia 3220.
This isa great mobile well was in the day it came out. The only downfall with this phone was that it soon loses it’s attraction very quickly. The nokia 3220 is a small phone weighing a mere 86 g and is chunky but light as well.
The menu.
As with all nokia’s the menus are set out the same in every single model. You have a picture menu and it’s all laid out very simple and easy to understand. Even a monkey could work this phone It is really that simple. You have a picture and what is in the folder so really you can’t go wrong.
The features of the nokia 3220.
The camera/Video
The camera is a integrated VGA camera and does take quality pictures they are very clear. Easy to use and take pictures. Once you have taken a picture then the picture will be stored in the images folder. There is no self image on this one there is also no light. You can turn this to night mode but you can’t really see what you have taken a picture of. The video player can also recorder clips not very long though I think something like a 50 seconds depending on what quality you have selected. High selected then you will only have 5 seconds record time. That’s not a lot. The video i think lets this phone down. The video also takes 3g video’s download from the internet.
Screen.
The screen is small but not that small you have to squint to see it. Only a 65k colour screen but still good and very clear.
X-press on covers.
You can customize this phone to make it your own. The back cover you can just un clip and put your own picture or buy them. With this phone in the box you have a template so you can make your own and slip it in and they will be the same size. I had a photo of my two kids in mine and I knew that this could never be mixed up with anybody else’s phone. There is also a cover front and back that you can buy for the wave messages that has a strip on the back and apparently the messages come out of that. I have never seen this for sale anywhere.
Themes, Screen savers, Wallpapers, Animated MMS.
The themes are a ring tone and a wallpaper and a screen savers or a colour. Easy done as all you have to do is elected which theme you would like and you can download them from the internet. Screen savers are the same as another phone nothing special. Wallpaper are the same as any other phone and again nothing special and the same for the mms.
Ring tones with lights.
The lights are synchronized with the ring tones and flash to the beat. This phone comes with 40 preprogrammed all ready on the phone. They can be deleted but once they are they have gone for ever. This phone supports polyphonic ring tones. I had a couple of voice ring tones on mine and they where download from o2 but they do take a lot of memory up. The lights are not the same for ring tones you put on your self all they do for these is just flash around and around.
Wave messages.
Not actually sure how this works as i never sent one. You can only send them if the other person has this phone or function. To receive these messages then you will need the right cover for this phone and i can not find them anywhere.
The rest of the features are the same as any other phone.

Price and where to buy.
You can pick this phone up now cheap and is widely available everywhere. Dial a phone and the car phone warehouse and all good phones shops. Even in some catalogs. I pushed mine from little woods and it cost me £99 and that was last year. Now you can pick one up from £50 at dial a phone. I had mine on 02 and all depends on what network you get as all networks charge different prices.
Overall.
This is a good phone at the start but then get very annoying and soon loses attraction quite quickly. This i reckon is aimed at the young end of the market. Got lots of features and games on. They are widely available and cheap these days not many phones are. I never had a problem with mine but the memory is not that big only 1.2mb and you can hardly have nothing on there that’s the main reason i got rid of this phone. You can’t have a separate memory card with this phone. The video lets this phone down as well. Ok for someone that only wants the phone for ringing peoples and nothing else.

- 19/04/07 I guess what is really lacking from this review is the first thought about this product - is it easy to make calls? Is it easy to text?> My 2600 is probably made before this and its getting difficult to text because the buttons are so close together. Also whats the phone book capacity and the games available - not all Nokias are the same, each phone in model ranges have slightly different features. Look more closely this is a nice looking phone. |
