Advantages: Newer Model, Great Extra
Disadvantages: No exchange policy, No data service, No infrared
The Nokia 3330 is one phone that I think was very unfair to people who have 3310 phone. Not even a year and Nokia decided to release another phone from that series with more features. I’m sorry if I’m getting angry but it is so true that a company like Nokia to do something like this hurt you. Ok all of you 3310 people if you had waited a bit longer you would have been given so much extra stuff for about the same price when you got your phone. (This is what I’m shouting about) There was no need for Nokia to realise this phone until at least a year has gone and they should also offer and exchange policy for those of us that have a 3310. (What do you think?) Nokia have not even offered an exchange or even though about it but what they did said was that the 3310 memory is not able to deal with a software upgrade. Who asking for a software upgrade we want an exchange. (Who agrees with me?) Design --------- The design is of the phone is very straight forward and look like a newer version of the 3210, but it does have a nice hold in your hand. Not too much of a problem to put in your pocket but pleases note that with a leather case can be annoying. As you know the predecessor is the 3310 and has exactly the same look and feel so you’re not getting anything new from the design. Features ------------ This phone does come with plenty of extra bits on this model and you will defiantly be impressed. As most of you 3310 owner know that there is a x-press cover changer for the front and back, which has a really nice feature. You have the freedom to make your phone very personal. Voice dialling activation of telephone number, what this actually does is it allows you to speak into the phone and it will dial you friend’s number for you. The only thing about this is that there only 8-store name you can uses. The main difference between t
he 3310 and 3330 is WAP 1.1 Browser (WIRELESS APPLICATION PROTOCOL) What good about wap is that it an information system similar to Internet explorer but can only display text and a few simple graphic. The best thing to say is that it’s like teletex and can be a pain after a while. By having the wap service on this phone you can also download games as well. There are a few standard games already on there which are Snake II, Pairs II, Space Impact, Bantumi and Bumper. What you can also do is post your highest scores via the wap to the club Nokia websites or wap site via your phone. Also their thing call profiles, which allow you to customise the way, your phone works. If you in a meeting you can create a profile to make sure that your phone does not ring or just set it to loud where it noisy. Also you can download new profiles from the WAP, which will keep you up to date with the latest. Vibrate and then ring option has been added to this phone so if your in a meeting and your busy doing something, then your able to set the phone to vibrate first and then ring. This is a new idea from Nokia regarding their phones but the idea has already been out for some time on other mobile phone makers. There a new option for animated screen saver that is base on picture message format. This allows a timer for a screen saver like the ones on the computer to be set form anything 5 sec-10minutes. What also good is that if you receive a picture message and you can save this as a screen saver. Remember that all Nokia phones don’t support picture messaging. A few added extras to the standard menus have been applied and her is a list of them Clock, Currency converter from idle mode, Stopwatch and Countdown timer. This is a good idea from Nokia if you take your phone aboard. Size ------ The size of the phone is not too bad compared to other Nokia phones and the weight is much better and is not heavy at all.
Let me give you an idea of the weight if some of you can remember how heavy a 3210 is then you will be pleased to know that this phone is so much lighter than that one. Weight: 133 g (with standard battery) Size: 113x48x22mm, 97cc Battery life -------------- The battery life is very good and you get a couple of days out of this phone without charging it. With talk time is around 4 hours that I think is more than enough, unless you have a motor mouth. :0) Internal Battery BLC-2, 850 mAh Li-Ion, 107g Talk time: 2 h 20 min to 4 h 15 min Stand-by: 55 hour to 245 hour Charge time: around four hours. Standard Stuff ------------------- You’ll get a lot of the standard feature such as Call register – catch up with you missed calls, received call, made call to see if anyone used your phone. Ringtones – you can download from the Internet or over the phone personalised ringers for your phone. You’re allowed to store up to 7 ring tones. Predictive text - An easy way to write your text messages out. What it does it suggests words for you, which you then pick. Overall ---------- I think the phone is great but is really disappointed at the launch of a phone prior to its predecessor. Just think of all the extra stuff on this phone and knowing your not going to have it unless you upgrade your phone. The downfall of the phone is that it does not have infrared and data support, arhh well you can’t have everything! Price ----- The price can vary depending on what package and network you select. Some shop is currently offering this model for free with accessories and other items. I would always say to look around before you buy as many stores offer free accessories that are not always that good. You will also be able to get unlock phone for around 200 pounds that is way
too much to spend. Important ------------- Since the launch of this phone there has been quite a few problem occurred so please make sure you check the software version of the phone by pressing *#0000# to see if you have the latest version. I’ve listed the entire version for you and remember that you can go to a Nokia service centre to get your version updated Software version: V3.05 (Oldest) V3.10 V3.12 (Newest)
