Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: WAP can be expensive
The nokia 3330 (113 x 48 x 22 mm) and (133g with standard battery) is my fave handset so far, maybe because I'm a sucker for Nokia's. Personally ever since my first nokia (cant remember model) but it was the size of a 500ml bottle..in other words one of the slightly older models! Anyway, since that I bought a 3210 I was hooked on all the features and ease of use. I have owned a siemens (given to me free via student offer) and it just doesn’t live up to Nokia. So with my recent pay cheque I decided to upgrade my Nokia 3310 to a Nokia 3330 (€179 Vodafone) What does it do? What doesn’t it do... bearing in mind that this phone came out before mms (Multi Messaging Service) its full of easy to use features! What are the features? animated screen savers, chat messaging, downloadable game packs, picture viewer, predictive text input, vibra feature, new Bumper and Space Impact games, voice dialing, WAP and Xpress-on covers Yes, but what do they all do then? Ok here’s a brief breakdown of each feature: WAP: The 3330 has a built in WAP browser which means you can access pretty much anything you need! Looking for cinema times, checking your account balance you name it you can do it. Do I have to pay for WAP? It depends on your network provider and package you choose! Screensaver: Leave your phone for chosen period and the screensaver will take over, this feature was on the 3310 however it was just a picture that came up... now you can choose from a selected amount of screensavers all animated! (My fave is the bouncing faces). Chat Messaging: This is the same as texting except you can keep track of your whole conversation. Voice Dial: you simply program your phone to whichever no you wish to dial then simply hold your finger on menu button and say name! X-Press on fascia: means you can change the phone cover to suit your mood! Pre
dictive Text-:this is as it says a text predictor. Here's a simple example if you go to write message and want to type apple... on non predictive txt your phone will simply type appjd however with this new technology it simply predicts the word you are typing. Just another note, say for example you want to type mum, the predictive text comes up with nun...simply press the * key and it will change the text to the other options i.e mum, num etc. Can I remove predictive text? Yes you can by pressing the # key you can turn it on and off if there are two lines next to the abc at the top this means its switched on. How many numbers can I store in the Phone book? 250 in Simcard and an extra 100 in phone! There are 35 ring tones on this handset and 7 spaces for your own tones! My fave tone is fool about I just think its funny! If not fool about then hurdy gurdy...its like your phones getting all excited. (Hmmm). What are the games? Snake II -you guide a snake around eating dots and bugs (I finally reached my target of 2000 points) Pairs II - find the matching pair Space Impact - shooting the aliens Bantumi - pass no's between the pods (end up with most no's).. I can never win this game so don't play it that much now! Bumper - pinball Can I send Picture messages? Yes you can, using smart messaging you can: Picture message sending and receiving (business card) sending and receiving Reminder note sending and receiving Ringing tone receiving Operator logo receiving Profile receiving What’s the battery like? Internal Battery BLC-2, 950 mAh Li-Ion, 108g will last between 2hr 40min to 4hr 45min and the Internal Battery BMC-3, 900 mAh, NiMH, 133g (standard) will last between 2h 30min to 4h 30min It says on the nokia site that you HAVE to be a member to get new ring
tones, graphics etc... this maybe so for nokia's logos but you can get logos dent to your phone by sites such as bolt blue. What do I use my phone for? sms, sms, sms, sms, sms!!!!! Ok I'm a bugger for texting. I use the WAP a bit when I have enough credit as I find I get slightly hooked on the games and all my credit goes down (see network providers for costs). The Reminder comes in handy too - same as an alarm except you can program it to go off whenever you want, whatever date & time etc and write a little note such as "Dads Birthday"...which I should remember really!!! I use all the profiles available I made one for me personally when I’m not in work just out and about, I use silent in work and Loud at night so that I hear it when the alarm goes off in the morning (hate this one though). How much is the club nokia? It’s free to join! How much does this phone cost? (Depends on where you buy it) you can get it for £139 on Vodaphone pay as you go hopes this all helps!

- 14/09/02 Excellent stuff - I've got one of these, but I really like Bantumi better than the other games (I usually win too)
Not so keen on changing the covers as the replacement ones tend to be a bit flimsy and break.
I also got mine free as an upgrade cause I'm on monthly billing!!
Welcom e to dooyoo - enjoy the site. Fishbulb >><>?™ |
