Advantages: Reliable, Affordable, Easy to Use

Disadvantages: Older Model

My Dad has had this phone for a few months now. I'm writing the review, because I have the Nokia 3330, which is almost the same (has the same features, display etc.) and I occasionally borrow his as well.

It's a good phone for someone who actually wants it to make calls, rather than flash around the latest gadget. This makes it perfect for my Father. If he can use it, then it means it really is easy to use. Having said that though, it still has plenty of features which are mentioned in more detail below. It has quick access to the phone book and menus. With regard to text messaging, the phone has a spell checker included, and uses predictive text messaging.

There are the standard games included - Snake 2(the most addictive), Bumper, Space Impact, Bantumi and Link 5 (which I'm sure is fixed because I never seem to win). There is also a 3D game called Mukini - but I find that a bit weird, because as far as I can see you end up stuck on level 2! Because the phone also has WAP capabilities, you are also able to download games. I haven't used this feature so I can't explain how easy it is to do, but going by every other feature on the phone it can't be that difficult.

Regarding ringtones, there's pleanty to choose from. 35 standard ones (ranging from the basic "ring ring" to those annoying ones that keep going on and on!) as well as 7 spaces to added customised ringtones. There is a ringtone composer included, which means you can make one up, or if you don't want to spend £1.50 downloading your favourite track, you can get manually enter it. There are plenty of sites around that tell you exactly what to press on your phone! If you prefer your phone discreet, it's not a problem because there's also a vibrate option. You also get an option with text messages - standard, special and beep.

Another of the features included is the screensavers. You can choose plain pictures included with the
phone, or animated screensavers. The 3410 has some really good animated ones in 3D, which you don't get with the 3330. It's easy to exit a screensaver as well - just press any button and it returns to your normal display (just like your PC!). Talking of the "normal" display, you can also download logos (usually at a cost) for the standby screen, to replace the network logo...this could include your name instead of "Orange" for example.

A calculator is also included, which also included a currency converter. Good for taking abroad, as you are able to make calls from a number of countries around the world (unfortunately USA is not one of them). You can also set reminders for yourself and there is an alarm clock feature (no need to ask for a wake up call when you're away!). You can lock the keypad, so you're not making useless calls from your pocket/bag etc.

In terms of price it is very cheap. I got it for £89.99 SIM free (it can be used on any network), which is very good value for money. Especially as I find it is a reliable manufacturer. I haven't had any problems with my 3330 after 2 years, and if the 3410 is also as good, you can't really complain about the price. Of course the price may depend on networks, and can come cheaper if you buy it with a SIM card, connected to a network.

I don't really have anything bad to say about it. It may be bigger than some models out there, but that's may not necessarily be a bad thing for everyone. Of course there are plenty of phones out there with colour screens, polyphonic ringtones, picture messaging and camera attachments. This phone doesn't have any of those, but as I said earlier, this is ideally a phone for someone who isn't looking for something too fancy.
