Advantages: colour screen, polyphonic ringtones, GPRS wap
Disadvantages: bit on the large side, battery doesnt last long
As dooyoo haven?t put a review option for the Nokia 3510i I?ll have to put it in here. But to be quite honest the phones isn?t all that different, its just been upgraded in several ways ( I know this because I sampled the 3510 in store). As I am a high tech girl with a low budget, I picked this phone. Ok I admit its hardly a top of the range phone, but it does it?s job with a few little extras. I bought this phone from carphone warehouse (The best mobile phone shop in my opinion). But seeing as the phone wasn?t on O2 yet, and that was my preferred network I bought the unlocked version for £150. Although now you can by it for around £120. ~~~~Image~~~~ First I better tell you what the phone looks like, as all us ladies know style is everything. When you first buy it the shape is not that unusual and it comes in a navy shade fascia, with orange sides that light up when the phone is in use. This is quite a cool feature that I haven?t saw on any other phones. The keypad is not that different from other phones and doesn?t make this model stand out. It weighs 106g which is quite light but you could tell if it was lifted out of your pocket or bag which can be seen as a good advantage. The phone isn?t one of the smallest on the market but its ok for me measuring at 118 x 49.6 x 17.1 mm What attracted me was the high colour screen which is guaranteed to make your phone look more flashy. ~~~Messages~~~ The menu for this area is quite extensive. There is the general text message, where if you use more than the number of characters for one message it automatically runs into two. Also it gives you a chance to view the sent messages.. Which is handy if you are prone to sending text messages when your drunk, at least you can see what trouble you got up to in the morning. Also you can send emails as the phone has wap with a GPRS connection. Then there?s the multimedia messages. I can?t tell you much on t
his because it doesn?t work on my phone because I didn?t get the sim card with my phone.. But I?ll be setting it up soon. What I gather you can do is send messages with pictures. And this is sent via the internet. Then there is the chat option which is on most of the nokia phones. It acts as if you are in a chat room on the internet but by messaging instead. You can opt to listen to your voice messages from this menu but its easier to just dial 901 ~~~Internet~~~ I?m not quite sure what the whole GPRS thing stands for but what I do know is that it makes your connection on your mobile phone faster? and also making downloads faster. You can access download sites such as o2, yahoo, software market and so on where you can download, tones games and logos. This is a great way to customise your phone as no one wants a boring ringtone.. Its embarrassing. And the games are essencial for journeys. They can be quite cheap as well around £1.50. Also you can find out the latest news, and directions to places and lots of other useful features like train times ~~~Phone features~~~ You have the option to have a background colour display which can make your phone look more interesting. There is also a wallet with your own pin where you can store your credit card information if your doing a bit of internet shopping but only have your phone on you. You can customise your own profile for different environments such as college where you would want it on silent but maybe on vibrate to let you know you have a message, or outdoors for example where you would want it really loud if you were in a busy environment there are six profiles you can customise. Oh one thing that is important that the tones are polyphonic. Which give a better sound than the mono tone ones. Especially the downloadable ones to your favourite songs very cool. Also a good advantage is that it has a built in alarm, this is good if your always travelling. The
phone does offer speed dialling where you just press one button on the keypad for a certain number and it also has the feature of voice dialling but this does not work very well. In all this is an ok phone if you can?t afford the best. It suits me and my lifestyle as a student. And as I get bored easily there are fascias that make this model look like a totally different phone and there are always new tones and games to be downloaded, ok for everyday use but I would not recommend to the business people.
