Nokia 5000
N-series phones from Nokia are most popular all around the world and most selling phones also with top popularity. Time to time Nokia has launched some budget level phones also to balance the market in all category phones. In the June this year a new entry level phone launched by Nokia with some good features with slim design and that is Nokia 5000. I will discuss here it's some good features with advantages and disadvantages also.

The first good feature in this phone is its slim and attractive design with 106 x 46 x 11.1 mm, of dimension it can call as slim and handy design, the thickness is about 11mm and it is the considerable point in this phone. Other dimensions are something like common with compare to other phones. Weight is also very light with approximately 74 g, and over all its design is slim and attractive.

This phone has two network capability with GSM 900 / 1800 for all world except America and GSM 850 / 1900 for American market, so if you have a American model than it will not work in all other countries. That is not a problem because this phone is not targeted with frequently travelers peoples and this is a budget or entry level phone and in this category it has adequate features.

Display size is also good and it is higher with compare to other phones in this category and the Size is 240 x 320 pixels, 2.0 inches TFT display with 65k colors. 2 inch size in entry level phone is very good and the display is bright and visible in all weather conditions. There is no problem with its LCD display it deals well at all.

Memory size
If we consider memory size of the phone than it failed to provide good memory size, there is no card slot in this phone and it has only 12 MB of shared memory that is something nothing with this kind of phone which has a feature like music player and camera also!, so here it failed to provide good memory size.

Connectivity center
In connectivity basis it has GPRS connectivity with Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps of transfer rate and the good feature here is it has a Bluetooth also. So we can say that in entry level phone it has a good connectivity features.
The next feature which is more important is its FM radio; I think most of this category phone has this feature and it if more important now a days because the trend is now moved to FM music and it is essential in mobile phones.

Camera point
Now here Nokia also provided 1.3MP camera, this consider as a average camera in mobile phone but there is no adequate memory or memory card slot so that there is no mean of keeping this camera in this phone. The better solution may be that if there is no camera in this phone and instead of keeping camera a good memory size should be provided.

Battery life
Battery life is satisfactory with Standard Li-Ion battery,700 mAh (BL-4B) and having a 4 hours of talk time, but in practice you will get about 3 hours of talktime only. In Fm and music playback time also it has same back up.

Final talk
Over all it is good entry level phone with slim and attractive design, but it should be improve in terms of memory size and battery back-up period.
