Advantages: very common phone, easy functions, large functional screen, asthetically pleasing, similar enough to the 6110 to allow simple upgrade

Disadvantages: no infra red link as in the other Nokia phones

The Nokia series of mobile phones - especially the 5110 - can, in my humble opinion, be blamed for the successful uptake of the mobile phones in the UK.

My mother who is 69 years young, who can't set the video, was convinced by her pensioner friends to get the 5110 as her mobile phone. Seemingly this is the mobile for the grannies.

Easy to use with a large screen, simple menu and selection. Best of all I managed to get her it under the pay as you go with Vodaphone.

My brother, two sisters and myself now have one each as [pay as you go] reserve phones.
