Advantages: Durable, Reliable
Disadvantages: Black&White LCD.
Nokia 5110 Cell Phone was my hubby's first cellphone. I think it was the first unit that made Nokia famous. It was very durable and could survive countless drops on the floor especially when he had drinking spree with his friends.
It was sold in the market 10 years ago for the unbelievable price of about £95! There was no colored phone at that time that I knew of. It delivered superb performance when it comes to durability. It had bold letters with 4-line text display. It is a monotone type.
*Screen: 47 x 84 Black & White
*Networks: GSM
*Battery: 900 mAh NiMH
*Dimension: 48 x 132 x 31 mm
Nokia 5110 had long talk time and battery stayed alive for days. It has external antenna that is now not pleasing to look at. But years ago, its competitive products also had external antennas so it was not a big deal at that time. Nokia 5110 Cell Phone was the most famous phone 10 years ago.
Nokia 5110 was first released in the market in 1998, and at that time, owning a Nokia 5110 just makes anybody a somebody as it was sold at an expensive price of £95.
It is the first mobile phone that featured the game 'Snake' and the first mobile phone that has interchangeable casing or cover.
Just like Nokia 3310 and Nokia 8210, only the first letter of the names stored in phonebook are alphabetically arranged. He had to scroll down a lot to get to the name he was looking for.
Though it was sold in the market at £95 ten years ago, anyone can get it online at £12.
Summary: Nokia 5110 is a very durable mobile phone but without other good features other than call and text
