Advantages: small compact robust god charge plenty of functions

Disadvantages: cant think of any

I have had my 5146 for a little over a year and it has proved it's weight in gold, although that doesn't amount to much you get the general idea.

The phone itself is very neat and compact, it has a small ariel, that doesn't get snagged in pockets, and it is robust enough not to snap off.

The phone comes a pretty standard black casing, with white rubbery buttons which you use to dial or text your number. There is also a large 'navi' key which takes you through the menus of the phone.

The menus in the phone comprise of a phone book in which to store 99 names and numbers, you cna also change how numbers are displayed on your phone, from large text to name and nu,ber to name only. In the phone book section you can input the 'speed dial' nu,bers. These are numbers which you dial frequently and you can store 9, this is very handy when trying to contact someone in a hurry as you only need to hold the relavant key (i.e. 2 ) for 2 seconds and the number stired there is dialled.

The next option in the munu is messages, her you can send, recieve and save messages. To type the numbers, press each numerical button the requiered nu,ber of times (they are laid out on each button). Beware though you do have to pay for this service on some networks and although fun and easy to do, it can cost a fortune!

Call register, in this section of the phone, it lists the last 8 nu,bers to be called, recieved and missed, this is a handy function if you miss a call (a bit like dialing 1471).

You can also see how long you calls were in the call duration section. Again handy if you are on a contract and have an allocation of free minutes to use.

Settings: This section lays out all the settings for the phone as the name suggests, you can turn a pin nu,bers on when you turn your phone on in case it is stolen, change the language the phone is in (not recommended!) You can also restore the factory settings on t
he phone, but will need a pin to do this (supplied with the phone).

You can also divert calls from you mobile to another number this is easy to do but what most people do not realise is that the owner of the mobile then stands the charge for the diverted call.

As with all phones now there is a selection(not vast) of ring tones. There isnt a lot to choose between them all and I am afraid i have plumped for the boring ring ring as many of the others are very irritating.

You can turn off the ringer on this phone which i think is a great feature, especially when exes are trying to ring you at 2.30 in the morning!

Last but not least this phone has three games, snake, logic and memory. To be honest i haven't really played these but I guess they could come in handy on a long bus or train journey. Although I prefer to look out of the window that gaze at a tiny screen.

As I said I have had my phone a good while now, and have not yet had to change the battery, I find that running the battery out completely once a week keeps it going stronger. I only make calls a couple of times a week, but the phone is switched on at all times, and the charge usually lasts a week wich i feel is pretty good. As some friends phone only last a couple of days.

All in all I love this little phone, I think it is one of the best on the market, for my needs anyway, that is, there for emergencies.

Ihope I havent rambled on too much, I think i have written 75 words, if not I dont know what else I can write about! Any tips of hints on writing opinions will be greatly appreciated. many thanks

Great opinion, but I think I prefer my phone more. (Nokia 3310)

(I'm not trying to brag, honest)

Welcome to Dooyoo. This was really good. I used to have this phone and found the only fault to be the clip that keeps the battery on. Mine got to the stage that it was turning itself off everytime i touched it. It was great for a year though.
