This phone is exactly the same as the Nokia 402 except for the following:

1. It is only avaivble on the one 2 one network
2. It is configured for GSM 900 frequeniceis.
3. It is younger, therefore some technical glitches were removed.

Apart from those 3 things, the following appys...

The Nokia 5146 was once a very good phone, and when I got my first one, I was very pleased.

However I shall write this opinion based on today’s market, and indeed what consumers should think about.

By today’s standards the 5146 is a brick.

*BRICK = Large phone, comparable to your typical house break in dimensions

It was the first phone to use the new Nokia profile set-up, and the fully graphical display was revolutionary, however by today standards it is small and very limited.

It has all your typical features that could pass it as a decent phone:

Loads of ring tones, great if you have a winging child who wants s a phone that can handle even the bleepiest of phone tune.

PAY AS YOU GO - £50
Snake – The game – Its evil, but schoolyards across the nation, this is the “in” thing to have. Basically it’s a good phone for all those kids who seem to “need” a phone on them.
Just a thought

The review:

However these are the reasons why you shouldn’t buy this phone:

Its large, compared to today’s compact technology, may as well pay the extra to save the lining of your pocket.

No vibrating alert means you might miss a lot of calls

However you can change the covers and this was the main reason for everyone buying the phone, I bet Nokia and 3rd parties made a packet out of them. I mean, come on, £10 - £30 for a piece of moulded plastic!

Rip Off

Summary – By today’s standard this phone is lacking in handy features, however it has the bones of a go
od phone. Buy only if you are very money conscious.

Snake sucks! As do most of these 'pikey' Nokias designed for the 13-year-old playground / bus shelter townies. Aah. Makes you want to scream out. It's for people who can't afford nice phones. Or 30-something mums who want an emergency brick phone to keep in their 'practical' car in case it breaks down.

Still good review, even if it's now been spoiled with my cynicism. Good title...

Yes, Snake is evil!

Um... achilly, since they announced these changes, I think they've given more crowns if anything! Go check the Premier Opinions page and see.

Also, there are various threads about the payment changes, including posts by dooyoo staff over at http://dooyoo.community.e veryone.net if you're interested. Why not pop along and have your say?
