Strong sound...weak shell (Nokia 5300 XpressMusic)
Name: spiralout4
Advantages: Good sound quality and reception(based on network) Disadvantages: Weak outershell so be careful I just recently bought the phone and it, like most nokias, is very easy to use and a whole lot of fun to have around. the sound quality for the ONE speaker in the back is great considering you didn't load iny mp4 tracks into the phone with the equalizer presets from itunes...if so you might damage the internal speaker with too much bass or distorted sound...basic mp3 files and acc files(even wma but you can only play one track at a time no playlisting) work great with this particular model on the other hand. i bought this phone to replace my samsung phones because i was having too many problems with the phone rebooting itself for no reason. i had that problem with my motorola phones as well...this phone has yet to reboot or freeze on me at all so i am very pleased with that simple fact. in the US there aren't but two options for phone color(black or lilac/purple). but you can easily fix that by purchasing a color shell from ebay or someother site. the video quality is pretty good for the phones size and the photos aren't half bad either...you might have to get used to the sideways picture taking format(i guess nokia wanted to make this as close to a real camera as possible) because you have to take the photos with the phone side ways/landscape so the the camera icon button acts as a shutter release..if you take pictures with the phone right side up/portrait the pictures will come out sideways. BUY A CASE FOR THIS PHONE...i most definitely suggest that you buy a protective something for this phone because if you drop it the outer shell is very easy to break and the internal gadgetry is very suceptible to shock damage...so either treat it like a new born baby and never drop it or get some sort of shock or damage resistant something...all in all i never regretted buying this phone...although there are no games for this phone and nokias support for it only features the pcsuite software to sync it with your home computer for file management or setting up the phone to help you access the internet or upload/download photos/videos. very hard to find any new color schemes for the phone and games aren't really all that great for the phone either...i don't play games on it and i still have fun with it so if you want games get an N-Gage...if you want a cool handy useful delicate phone that kicks the moto k2/slvr/razr/krzr/rizr and the samsung trace/t809/t529 or any other mp3 phone out there's butt...you need look no further except for the nokia 5700... Summary: good phone for the music buff and busy teen/college student
