Advantages: Good sound quality, good screen resolution and a lot of memory
Disadvantages: Becoming more common, overall price and only one theme.
Having needed a new phone for a very long time, I decided to get a contract. As it was a fairly bad contract, the nokia 5800 came with it.
*Appearance*
The sleek curves of this phone will have anyone wanting to have a look. Available in a smooth red theme, the phone looks simple but sexy. The touch screen is 3.2" which is perfect for one hand use. The whole phone is just over 10cm tall which is perfect to simply slip into your pocket.
*What's on offer*
Music- A fantastic music player, and as the phone comes with an 8GB memory card, you can listen to music for hours on end. Not to mention; It has built in speakers.
Camera/video recorder- It has a 3.2 megapixel camera which allows you to take clear photos, without claiming to be a photographer. The screen is high resolution, so the picture quality is always good, with a flash and many different modes. Shooing videos is easy with many different modes to play around with. You can add soundtracks, cut or add titles to your videos, and images are easily edited too.
Internet- It offers high speed web browsing, and if you are lucky enough to have or find a wireless network, you can obviously browse for free. There is a tab called 'maps' which allows you to get directions, find hotels or restaurants in a certain area or just have a look around.
*Easy to use?*
Unlike a lot of new phones coming out, the Nokia 5800 is very easy to get to grips with. There are a number of different input methods including an on-screen keyboard, the normal text keypad and the handwriting mode. Once you know your way around the phone, things are easy to get to with the many short cuts you can set up, so nothing is ever too far away. Adding new contacts and creating messages are very easy, so for all of you that do not like overly complex gadgets, this phone will be fine for you. Syncing files with your pc is so easy. Just download the software, and everything is self explanitory.
*Extras*
>It is bluetooth compatible.
>It comes with head phones
>It comes with a few stylus'
>3 games for if you get bored easily and more that are able to be downloaded.
*price*
As it is brand new out, in most places the Nokia 5800 is going for between £200 and £300. For those of you that do have the money, it is worth it. For those of you that don't however, I would strongly recommend that you do what I did; get a contract that includes this phone- it is worth it. Prices for all new phones are always sky high, but rumour has it that this one has already outsold the iPhone, so something must be going right.
Summary: Worth buying. It is fast, reliable, and everyone will be jealous of your new gadget.
