Advantages: very easy to use
Disadvantages: camera
The nokia 5800 XpressMusic is nokia's first dip into the ever growing touch screen phone industry, and was meant to rival the iphone and blackberry storm. The nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a very good phone in it's own right but is not a rival for the iphone or blackberry. Nokia's first attempt at a touch screen is very good and I would recommended this phone to anyone just as as a replacement for the iphone. Now onto the phone itself I have had this phone for three months and now feel I am in a position to fairly judge it.
The 3.2 inch screen is plenty big enough, while the phone itself is small and slim ideal for slipping into your pocket. The phone is stylish and has sexy curves while neatly fitting into one hand for easy use. Phones are now seen as an fashion accessory and this is the perfect choice. The screen is high definition and gives a very high quality picture.
As the name suggests this phone is all about the music and has ample storage to hold hundreds of tracks. This phone usually comes with a 8gb memory card, which considering many ipod have less storage space is a very good amount. The music feature is easy to access either via the main menu or a touch screen button on the fronts. When upon the phones music menu the layout is of a excellent standard and very easy to use, you can create various play lists. Mean while the menu also has other sub areas such as; artists, albums' all songs, pod casts ,genres and composers. Once decided upon the song the music quality is of a high standard and can be heard through either the nokia headphones or on loudspeaker. The phone also has the feature giving you the opportunity to listen to the radio.
The phone has a 3.2 mega pixel camera which is adequate but not the best available. The picture quality is of a competent level, while the photos can be viewed easily. The phone has many other features which you would expect with a phone and all can be used with either your finger/thumbs or stylus provided (which slides neatly into the back of the phone).
Overall this is an excellent phone and I would recommended it to anyone, the only thing I can criticise about the phone is the 3.2 mega pixel camera. i also have had no problems with the phone. However if you are looking for an iphone do not look to this as a replacement.
Summary: very good phone just not replacement for the iphone
