Advantages: Great experience touchphone
Disadvantages: Camera quality is very poor
This was my first Nokia touch phone way back to 2008 (from its initial release).
I am not a music freak. But i was so curious to have a Nokia Touch phone.
It was an expensive curiosity.
But it was paid!
I had been using it for 2 years until I decided to try other brand's touchphone I have in hand now.
It was a good experience.
The shape is great. It has 7 physical buttons on its body.
Power, volume rocker, shutter key, screen activation slider, Menu button, Call and End knobs.
They are placed amazingly useful.
Plus a touch-sensitive Media key near the video-call camera.
I give a TOP rate for this lay out.
I never had difficulties in using any of them
It comes with 3.5mm audio jack to distinguish its XpressMusic on top of the phone.
And, again, another great placement.
The stylus is slided in the back panel. Very Comfortable.
Nokia 5800 is still equipped with Symbian S60 that stated with some revolution.
Menus and interface is good. And as Nokia's standard, the touch interface is very very user-friendly.
My 4 years old son could find his favorite games without asking me how.
Telephony function is OK.
One thing I could not find is the smart-dial. I have to find in contact for start calling.
Messaging also good thing to mention since it does not have physical keypad. We can choose many alternative to text (qwerty and alpha numeric)
Surely, for Music and Video player, this phone is doing well.
FM radio is cool.
Also the web browser is OK.
I do not have much complain for this phone.
But nothing is perfect. If you like to capture moments of your life a lot.
I mean during daylight and night, you will be disappointed with its camera quality.
When you captured images indoor, the result will be very poor.
Details are far below standard equipped 3.15 MP camera.
Finally, I prefer calling it Express Style rather than XpressMusic.
The styling is awesome.
Only the shape is bit bulky if you compare to these day's touch phones.
But it is still acceptable I think.
Summary: Good basic touchphone from Nokia
