Advantages: Does the basics well/looks good

Disadvantages: Doesn't do much else

The Nokia 6101 clamshell phone does exactly what you'd expect from a phone and not much else. Looks cool, calls, text messages, basic web access etc are all reasonable, and very easy to operate if you've had a Nokia before, though I miss that special button which they used to include which seemed to do everything. However there are almost no extras.

The camera is decent enough quality, but limited memory means you can't really keep many pics. The radio works, but you need a fiddly little special attachment to use it. No bluetooth or infrared connectivity. The web connection is slow enough you just end up saying "never mind, I'll get it when I get home."

Battery time seems very good but build quality could be better. Having had a Motorola clamshell phone, this just feels a bit flimsy. Having had Nokias before I never had to replace one for damage, they seemed indestructable, I'm not so sure with this one. It's already scratched loads.

Overall a decent phone which looks good, and if you only need the basics, will get the job done.

Summary: Looks good, basics all well handled, very few extra features, not bad at the price.
