Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Gets hot, poor battery
I switched to this phone under contract with 3 last year and although on the whole I like it, I have had a few problems with it.
The pros:
-------------
It looks great, i've got the white and silver version and its a very stylish phone, also very lightweight and fits nicely in your hand. The cameras are pretty good - as good as you need on a phone anyway, I have a proper digital camera for anything other than spur of the moment snaps!
I like the reading text messages option which I have never seen on any other phone, also the memory (with smart card) is very large, I have to force myself to start emptying texts out after it gets to about 200 in the inbox, it never seems to get full.
I like the screen and the buttons, but then I have very small hands so the buttons being smaller is not a problem for me (but I can see they might be if I had larger ones).
I really like the music playback quality on it and love being able to have my own music on it for ringtones etc.
The Cons
------------
This phone gets INCREDIBLY hot. I am not talking just a little bit warm against the side of your head, I mean its hot like you cant touch it and literally I end up talking with it a good few inches from my head. This happens when ive been on the phone over about half an hour, which for me is a couple of times a week. I started to worry that it might actually set on fire but apparently its a common problem with this model and I couldn't find any incidences of it exploding as yet - just a lot of people with very red ears.
The battery life is indeed very bad indeed. I have to charge it pretty much every day and its been like this since I first had it, again having looked into it this seems standard for the model but it is annoying. I have to remember to take my charger everywhere with me. One long phone call (again im talking over half an hour) and you can guarantee you have lost a few bars of your battery already.
Occasionally this phone will just totally cut out when im on a call although again this only seems to happen when im on longer calls.
Overall
----------
Its a lovely and easy phone to use, I personally dont bother with the emails side as I have a blackberry for work but I find this phone a pleasure to use (aside from the heat!). I have had a number of these type of Nokia's over the years but this is my favourite to date.
The pros do outweight the cons but its a shame that these seem to be common problems with this particular model. If Nokia could eradicate them this would be absolutely top notch.
Summary: A good all rounder
