Advantages: Looks good, Good quality, Many features
Disadvantages: Could be lighter, Voice dialling only works with Handset phonebook
I have just recieved a new Nokia 6210 to replace my ageing NEC DB2000 and comparing the two phones is like night and day! The phone is a medium sized handset, not too small, quite slim and lightweight. It also has a built-in antenna and in general its a good looking phone. The phone is presently one of Nokias more high-spec handsets and it features WAP (like mobile internet), Voice activated dialling, predictive text messaging, lithium-Ion battery etc. When using the phone to make calls, the quality is excellent, by far the best I have ever experienced and it seems to get reception in the places where my old phone would never have. Sending text messages on this phone is so easy a blind person would find it easy, from the standby screen you just one button three times and your composing your text! The T9 predictive text imput is awkward to use though and its easier having it turned off! The voice dialling feature works quite well, with the phone surprisingly recognising most names. Other features the phone has are vibracall and a IR port just incase you want to use it with a laptop. So I would say to everyone go and buy one! I like them because there not as common as other Nokias and there still slightly, dare I say - exclusive!

- 10/05/01 I would have to contest that a blind person may have some trouble entering a text message :) |
