Advantages: Light weight, Small, Easy to Use, , Brilliant User Interface, online help screen pop ups, built in camera with video and sound recording capabilities,

Disadvantages: Easily damaged (in terms of water, and scratching) Games selection is poor, use of data transfer services are poor abroad, , Questionable durability - Phone rapdily loses sound quality (speakerphone) after wear.

I have recently purchased a Nokia 6220, and WOW! What an upgrade from the Nokia 3310. I thought snake was a breakthough!

Overall, I have found the phone extremely easy to use. It has many help screens to guide you through each of the functions of the phone, and also has a customizable user interface, allowing you to use it in the way you best fit, or in the way you best like more importantly.

I have however found, in my experience, that the sound tends to fade after excessive use, and have had some minor problems with the volume and the disappearance of sound. This is probably due to the humidity and wet climate that we live in, but do be careful. Also the ringtones are rather bland and are in my personal opinion, bland from any other of the phones that Nokia has on offer (excluding monotone mobiles). That problem can be solved though, by downloading some through its data transfer capabilties i.e. GPRS, Infra Red, and WAP.

I still feel however that this is a great phone, with some of the following brilliant capabilities:

- Built in Camera with video and sound capabilties
- Built in Sound Recorder
- FM Radio Function
- GPRS and WAP functions, allowing game and ringtone downloads
- Multimedia Messaging service capabilties, allowing photographs, sounds and graphics to be sent to and from your friends and family.
- Selection of great applications such as Converter II allowing you to convert from anything to currency to weight
-Great games, including Backgammon, and Water rapids
- A comprehensive organiser, with alarms, notes, memos to make sure your day to daya ctivities are kept on track (I use it as a little diary, helping me with my diets)
- A synchronisation tool where you can synchronise contacts with a computer or a palm top PC to make sure your contacts are always kept up to date everywhere you go.
- Wallet funtion, allowing you to keep track of financial matters i.e. storing credit card numb
ers, store card numbers. (Also comes with a password protection abilty so that nobody can access it, and view personal or potentially useful information to steal)

This new phone, with its customizable user interface and abundance of help options really allows the very basic user, like myself, to really take advantage of the wide array of functions of the phone.

Firstly, the built in camera. Brilliant! This camera not only produces a photo, oh no. It has a wide range of photograph options, from optimised images for night time in Night-mode and Video capabilities lasting up to 20 seconds, to self timers and editing capabilities. Not only that, but once you have took your photos, you can have them as backgrounds, upload them to your computer for editing, or send them to your friends from your phone with infrared and Multimedia Messaging Service capability.

I will make a note that the quality of the photos are certainly not the best in the mobile industry. I have found that the Nokia 6600 takes the best photographs from personal experience. But again, the Nokia 6600 is more expensive than this phone. So really it comes down to personal preference.

The videos are great. Little video clips lasting 20 seconds that really are brilliant. However, again, as I mentioned about the photographs, the videos are nothing to write home about. They are very low quality, and if for example taking a video in medium to low or little light, it is very difficult if not impossible to see what is happening. The sound quality definately compliments the video. The Nokia 6600 again, has a much better video quality, but only permits 10 seconds of filming.

Secondly the Radio. Brilliant.Boring days at the office? Just stick your discreet earphones in, and listen away. I do however warn that if you do not have a headset included, the originals can be rather expensive. The covers for the phone are also expensive, and generally hard to find.

Thir
dly, the GPRS and WAP functions are brilliantly set out, and extermely easy to manipluate to find the information you need. However, when I travelled to the Gulf (Middle East), Every country didnt have the settings for the telephone, and therefore was unable to use it. This is applicable to several countries. This problem however should be solved soon, as the service providers upgrade their systems.

The transfer of files to your computer is also relatively simple and easy to do. You do however need a relatively fast computer, and also their DKU-5 Connectivity cable. This is extremely expensive compared to the DKU-2 which is used for other phones. For the cable alone, it was approximately £55, which I think for a cable is absoloutley scandalous.

I would however, in conclusion, highly recommend this phone to you. It has been extremely handy, especially its built in camera which is so convenient to use when you are out, and dont want to carry around a big camera.

I am sure with time that the price of the phone and its accessories will slowly dip, allowing other users to really take advantage of it.

Overall a well deserved 9/10!

I live in New-Zealand, and this fone is listed under "nokia 6225"... It looks exactly the same as the photo, but my phone doesn't have the video function which sucks
