Advantages: Numerous extras to play with e.g. bluetooth, video camera, The overall style of the phone. , Polyphonic & real music ringtones

Disadvantages: Occasionally blurred still pictures

This is my personal experience of the Nokia 6230, in a nutshell.

The good bits

I have to say, since I bought this phone around 2 weeks ago I haven’t yet stopped playing with its many features. On a scale of 1 to 10 this phone definitely rates 11 for the extra stuff it has. Including:

• Video & Still Camera – perfect for catching your mates at their more embarrassing moments!
• Bluetooth – like infrared but easier to connect & send due to reliability of connection and the fact you don’t have to be phone to phone for it to work!
• Multimedia messaging – for spreading those embarrassing moments.
• Media Player – for both sound & picture.
• MP3 player– real music can be played from your phone and set as your ringtone.

Other features the 6230 has include GPRS, colour screen, 3 addictive games (beach rally, chess and golf), radio and a whole array of display, phone and call settings. It also has most other extras which now-a-days phones have, calculator, translator, voice activator, organiser etc.

The look of this phone is fantastic. The covers available for it are in nicely coloured and the layout of the phone compliments its capability perfectly. I have had comments from various people stating that they love how the 6230 has been styled, and I have to say, I feel quite good wondering around with it to my ear. Especially when my real music or polyphonic ringtone goes off!! The menu even looks excellent with its animated icons.

The ease of use on this phone is amazing. But then again, isn’t it on all Nokia phones? Everything is where you would expect to find it and the preset shortcuts are the common features that most people use. The size is just right so you can still push the keys and fit it in your pocket. Not bad going, eh?

The Nokia 6230 has no problems what-so-ever with usual features like text messaging, calling in/out, loudspeaker etc.

The Bad Bits

To be honest, there isn’t much about this phone to write about here. Only a couple of points you should know about before buying this excellent piece of technology.

The still camera doesn’t always take the clearest pictures. The fact the phone has a memory card means you can develop your pictures at a Kodak kiosk, but what use is this if all your pictures are blurred?

Also, the 'select' button is also a left, right, up, down button. You can imagine how annoying it is when you wish to select something and the cursor goes to the left. However, this seems to be something that comes with practise. Eventually, you will hit the button right.
Overall
There isn’t much you can say about mobile phones these days. Especially when it comes to Nokia with their perfectly styled perfectly tuned products. However, this phone definitely stands out from the crowd. Highly recommended!

I have found the select button tricky to use too. Mike
