The old faithful brick
Member Name: missgroovychick
Advantages: The most reliable phone in the world
Disadvantages: Its past its time, no proper internet capability
Whenever I am between phones or my latest phone has an issue, this is my old faithful. I've had it for a good 6 years now and it has never failed me.
Being one of my first colour phones I grew very attached to it, especially with its 1.3MP camera which was a huge step up from a 256 colour Siemens MC60 that I first had.
Also it was one of the first phones that you could put a full size SD memory card in and I flaunted that capability with 1GB card which held all my pictures, and my music and I even downloaded midi files that I used as ringtones and stored them here.
Nokia is known for its very user friendly layout, and this was exactly that. My best bits were that you can customise the menu screen into a block menu or a list and this I found to be useful as I would have loathed the menu being in list form and having the option for both can keep people happy. Also the numerical system of features and folders meant that you can shortcut to various messages or settings folders and this was handy too.
Its mp3 player was very good as you can put it on loudspeaker and it was pretty loud for its time and so was the FM radio. It was my replacement ipod whenever I lost mine, however inbetween changing songs there is a little lag as expected because it is pretty old.
My favourite feature on this phone was the bluetooth. File transfer on this phone was quick and painless and lead to hours of fun sending photos to other bluetooth users and if using a bluetooth enabled computer, for transferring files without having to open the back and getting the memory card out from underneath the battery (which would reset the time and date settings of the phone)
Also battery life on this is surprisingly economical, I could go without charging it for 3 days using the text feature every few hours. And using the camera function, I could go without charging it for 2 days.
The main drawback I had with this phone in comparison to new phones is the screen size, its so diddy! Also the WAP feature is quite a bit of a joke compared to the internet on modern phones....
This phone was the superphone of its time without a doubt.
Summary: It's always got my back if I need it.
