Advantages: Trendy looking rotating screen, lots of features
Disadvantages: Bulky, heavy, unreliable
The Nokia 6260 is a clamshell phone with a range of interesting features, but most obviously its most notable feature is the rotating screen which can be rotated to a number of positions - open, closed, facing inwards and facing outwards. This is a little "gimicky" and at first it's quite fun but the novelty soon wears off. After a few days the sturdyness of the screen wears of and the hinge feels very loose and dangerously close to falling off (although it never does).
THE RANGE OF INTERESTING FEATURES
As mentioned earlier the phone has a numebr of interesting features which make s it particularly attractive to business users. Under applications it has a feature called "quickword and quick point" which combined with its symbian operating system allows you to view word documents and powerpoint document which is extremely useful. It alos has a real player used to play video files and has the, by now, standard features of FM radio, polyphonic ringtones and MP3 player, although the MP3 player is mono and not the best quality.
CAMERA & IMAGE QUALITY
There are a number of modes you can take pictures/videos in and the way it is done is quite celver also. You can rotate the screen so that it resembles a camcorder and snap away. However, photos can be taken in a number of differnet positions as the camera is located on the side rather than at the back - which enables you to take a number of candid pictures!!
WEIGHT/SIZE
The phone itself is actually quite cool looking, with its rotating screen, however this is overriden by the fact that it is a "brick". It is huge and is of a considerable weight. You do notice it in your pocket and it does pull your clothes down!
Other negatives include the fact that it has poor memory and it has software issues. My one repepatedly switched off after 6 months.
SUMMARY: A good phone with a whole host of features, which is particularly targeted at business orientated people. If you don't mind it's size than it could be the phone for you but personally, for me it's too bulky and unreliable. There are better smartphones on the market, in my opinion.
(P.S This is my review from Ciao)
Summary: Half decent phone - that's all.
