Advantages: Music Player; Stylish; Display
Disadvantages: Battery, Camera Flash, Internal Memory
The Nokia 6280 is a smart, stylish slide mobile phone. It has a good range of extra features, including a 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recorder.
It has a large screen with good clarity. When closed the phone is quite compact, but I was often accused of possessing a 'brick' when it was open! I think attitudes on large phones have changed since the release of the iPhone etc.
The music player is very good, and the sound quality is superior to a lot of phones including newer models. I found the quality particularly good when using the Nokia headphones that the phone comes with when new.
The phone doesn't have a great deal of internal memory and as messsages cannot be saved to the memory card, I had to delete my messages quite often. This also posed a problem when trying to store music. The camera is good during the day. I tended to use mine in night clubs and bars, and the flash wasn't very effective and photos would come out looking cheap and hazey. The video claims to have night mode capabilities, but I disagree. The video is simply terrible during low light.
The phone has internet capabilities, which I found very useful. It is only advisable to browse mobile websites, as most of the HTML pages were too much for phone to handle and the speed was slow.
I quickly developed a problem with my battery, I find the phone runs it down very quickly, especially when using the internet, playing games and making lots of texts and calls. My battery has gone from fully charged to empty within 10 hours before. I feel this is unacceptable for a mobile phone. It will probably stay charged on standby for about 48 - 60 hours.
Summary: Still a respectable entertainment phone, excellent sound quality and excellent display
