If you want a simple and modern mobile phone, then the Nokia 6300 is a good bet - it was the best phone I'd ever owned before getting an iPhone. The physical design is excellent - it's very slim, with a brushed aluminium finish which doesn't scratch easily and is easy on the eye. As it's thin, it's light to, you don't notice it in your pocket - which can sometimes be disconcerting.

The phone features are about standard for a modern mobile phone without the smartphone capabilities - a 2MP camera, MMS, mobile browsing are all there. The phone is extremely easy to use, which, in my opinion, is what sets Nokia apart from other makes. It really is very fast and easy to perform any of the phones functions, and very difficult to get lost and confused.

The keypad is solid and the buttons big enough to both read and press, and the screen is bright, clear and a big improvement on older Nokia models. Sound quality is also good, as you'd expect.

On the downside, the handset does occasionally freeze, meaning you have to turn it off and on again, which is irritating. More irritating is that it tends to freeze more on startup, so you quickly get into a loop of having to turn it off and on before the phone eventually starts correctly.

Summary: If you're after a mobile phone that just does calls, texts and photos very well, this is excellent.
