Great Phone, Until the Earphone Socket Broke!
Member Name: greenrob
Advantages: Good camera, Easy to navigate, Nice design.
Disadvantages: Earphone socket very easy to break, Not 3g.
I found the Nokia 6300 to be a very reliable phone for the first year I owned it. The phone has a great design, the camera is good for a 2 megapixel phone and it seemed to have all the feature I needed.
The phone is very easy to navigate and the menus are easy to use. One complaint is the size of the buttons which are slightly small but this is not a problem if you have average sized fingers.
The camera provides good quality pictures and the video recorder is decent. Included in the box is a disc for connecting the phone to the computer which allows you to update the firmware and import videos or music.
One of the great features was the music player which provided a high quality of sound through the supplied earphones. However, after a year of occasionally using my earphones the phone started failing to detect that the earphones were plugged in. At first simply rotating the earphone in the socket or removing and plugging in again worked but it has now got to point that earphones only work for a short amount of time before cutting out. I have tried new earphones but this has been unsuccessful.
On the whole this phone was good while the earphone connection worked and it is very easy to use. The inclusion of an fm radio is useful but it is the shame that this phone is not 3g. If you do not intend to use this phone for the music function I would recommend this phone.
Summary: One of the best 2g phones about, just a shame about the earphone socket.
