Advantages: Ease of use, GPRS / BT functionality, Battery life
Disadvantages: Use in the car kit.
I recently upgraded my ever reliable 6210 to the all singing, all dancing 6310 and at first view there seems little difference other than a nice silver case. The devil is of course in the detail (not that I have ever read the manual). So, good or bad? Good I would say. It works exactly the same way as every other Nokia phone I have owned so no need to re-learn the user interface. My address book copied via IR with no problems and it fit's into the Car kit perfectly. Even the old charger still works. The biggest issue is just an annoyance. When you plug the phone into the car kit, it does not switch off when the ignition key is removed. Not a major problem but if you did leave your phone in the car kit and left it there, it may have a drain on the car battery, assuming some local youth doesn't help themselves to the phone first. I have made use of the GPRS data facilites via a PC Bluetooth dongle and it works well both here and abroad although the network has yet to be extended to Moscow which was a problem recently. The software to drive the GPRS on my notebook installed fairlty easily although the firewall setup was more complex than I would like. The WAP functionality is as much a waste of space as it has always been but you can't blame that on Nokia. Battery life is a significant improvement on the 6210 and I have yet to have any low battery warnings even with heavy use daily. Overall a good business phone. Nothing flash, just the functions you need to travel the world, make phone calls and download your mail.
