Advantages: Nice design, Good interface, 1GB storage
Disadvantages: No memory card, poor camera
I was offered this phone once, when it first released, and I unfortunately said no, but I regret that I did not even test it out. Now that I have, I can say afew things about it, and that I was quite wrong to think this phone was 'an ordinary phone'.
Well, you could argue that it certainly looks kinda ordinary, but ordinary comes with special powers, for this phone. It has half metal body (you can get the gold or black version of this phone), and it is the definition of 'sleek'. Smooth and flowing, this phone will feel great in the hand. The design is neat and somewhat ordinary, but still very sweet. Keypad looks great, but I have to say it did not respond too great.
Good stuff, right. The 1GB memory is worth the mention, seeing as this is a mid-range phone. Good for those pictures and music...well some of them at least. Unfortunately, you can't expand it through a card.
Display is marvellous, like some of other Nokia phones. Quite small at 2inches, but it looks great with the whole proportion of the phone. The phone runs on S40 (nope not a full smart symbian), but this was never meant to be a smartphone anyway. S40 made this phone very quick, snappy and easy to use. Finally, it comes with bluetooth...well it was expected to.
Now, I always say this about Nokia, but they do make the worst cameras, when it comes down to phones with not-really-a-camera-phone. 2MP sounds tempting, but wait till you see the result, because this 2MP is no better than that of Sirocco or E65. Absolutely disgusting. I mentioned before the keypad wasn't very good, and it doesn't have a 2ndary video camera, even though it supports 3G. No radio either but that isn't much of a problem for me.
Overall, this phone is a good looker, and it does appeal to many senses. But is it enough? I ask. Well, for phones like 8800 series dare I say, it wasn't enough. Looks jus couldn't do it for me. I needed functions and a design to die for. Which this doesn't really have neither.
But on a different note, I would recommend this handset to those who are looking for a nice, quick, and no-problem-causing phone because this phone will do the trick. With a resonable price of around £100, I think it is a great buy.
Summary: A nice sleek mid-ranger!
