Advantages: Looks, ease of use
Disadvantages: Lack of memory card slot
Just got rid of this phone after 12 months with it. It's the best Nokia handset I've had so far, and that's saying something because in my opinion Nokia make the best handsets available. The user interface (Series 40 5th edition) is simple and easy to get on with, unlike the Symbian platform of the Nokia N80 I had previously.
The camera is of satisfactory quality, no more or less than you would expect from a phone of this size and price. The reception on this phone is good, obviously depending on network, but Nokia don't seem to have compromised reception in fitting everything into such a small package. The micro USB charging/sync connection is good, and means you can charge your mobile from your laptop if need be. Also, the phone always charged when you plugged it in as opposed to some of the previous Nokia models with the tiny charging pins, which came loose and meant you had to balance your phone/charger 'just right' to convince it to charge! I'm sure anyone who had the N80 knows what I'm talking about.
The phone looks great, with its sleek black brushed aluminium case and small profile. It slips into your jeans without you knowing it's even there, so check your pockets before doing the laundry! Unfortunately your memory options are nil on this handset with 1GB built in memory, and no way to upgrade. However, using it as a phone, and maybe the occasional photo, I didn't find this a problem, but some people who like to load their mobiles up with a few music/photo albums will find this to be a big negative against this phone.
To sum up, I think it's a great little handset and does exactly what you would expect it to do from a company like Nokia.
Summary: Good package, perfect as a phone, but no more.

- 17/02/09 Some good information here and a nice start. Putting blank lines between your paragraphs would make this easier to read. Also, it would have been interesting to hear how well this works as a phone. |
