Advantages: smart, reliable nice to use
Disadvantages: no memory card
I've finally got rid of that terrible sony ericson w910i. I reviewed it previosuly and it has finally been replaced today with this little beauty. My sony ericson kept cutting out and freezing so it had to go.
I bought this from Littlewoodsdirect for £99 on sale from £129. I got the black one because I think it is more sophisticated and sleek looking and the pink one is more for a teenage girl in my opinion.
I've decided to get the phone on o2 because I've been with them for the last three years or so and think that they are the best and offer the best for my money. My daughter is also on o2, so we get free calls to each other which is very useful.
The box the phone came in was orange and light brown and had a picture of the phone on and said 'Nokia 6500 classic.' After opening it, it has the usual user manual, sim card, top up card and started guide which I don't usually bother with because I like to play with the phone and get to know it myself and only refer to the book if I get completely stuck. The phone also comes with some nokia earphones so you can listen to the radio or songs on your phone and a USB cable so you can put your images, videos and music to and from your computer. I find that paticularly useful because I like to take my pictures with my phone rather than taking the camera around.
The phone itself:
The phone is completely black and has silver around the screen and buttons. It is very thin, 9.5mm thick and only weighs 94g so won't be a pain in your pocket. Its Dimensions are 109.8 x 45 x 9.5 mm, 47 cc . It's so small, I can easily put it in my pocket without having a bulge and discomfort.
It has a 2mp camera with an LED flash that you can turn on or off and you can make videos on it for a brilliant five hours. The video quality isn't too bad, it is better than the one on my sony ericson but the camera quality doesn't seem as good and I can't zoom right into my pictures like I could on the other phone.
My phone has come with 5 games,
-snake 3.
- backgammon.
- sudoku.
- midnight pool.
-Golf tour.
I do really like the sudoku and the snake three is OK, but I did prefer the original that you could play on the old nokia 3210.
The phone has all the basic things like a calculator, calender, countdown timer and stopwatch too that we just take for granted these days. I can't say I use the calender but I have used the alarm and it is really good and you can pick what time to wake you up and what song to play, then you can choose to snooze or turn it off.
The phone has bluetooth so you can send and recieve videos, songs and images from your friends which is useful to save your credit rather than sending a picture message. If you didn't know, bluetooth is a way of connecting with other people who have bluetooth on their phones, and you have to be within a certain range of one another, about 5 metres. You can turn the bluetooth off or hide so nobody can see your bluetooth and you can change your bluetooth name and pair with people who have bluetooth to make sending and recieving files with them much quicker.
The phone is really easy to use and it is very easy to change the phone to how you want it, theme, wallpaper, screensaver, ringtone and shortcuts. You just go into your settings and select from there. I'm not brilliant with phones, but haven't had to look at the book yet for this one.
The phone has an internal memory of 1GB and no memory card slot which really disapointed me as I had one in my old phone and now I'm going to have to send everything over to this one which is going to take ages. I'm pretty sure I'll have plenty of memory left over though as 1GB is more than enough for me.
I've played a few songs on there an it has good volume control so you can have it fairly loud and quiet and it does sound very clear for a mobile phone, more clear than the sony ericson did which I'm glad about.
It hasn't had chance to cut out or even be dropped yet, so I will update the review in a few weeks to tell you more about its reliability.
Overall, the phone is really easy to use and navigate through, even I can do it! It has lots of features although I will miss having the memory card for extra memory, I didn't really need it. I would recommend this, It is relly nice to look and and really easy to use.
