Advantages: Simple to use, battery life good, nice to look at
Disadvantages: Camera isn't great at only 2MP
I've always had Nokia phones up until now - I have a Blackberry now for work purposes. But Nokias have always been my favourite. Their menus are so easy to navigate and the phones always last you a long time. This was the phone I had before I got my recent one. Had it for nearly 2 years and it still works perfectly. Am going to keep it in case I ever need it again!
Memory/Battery Life
There's no memory card with this phone - all the memory is built into the handset. 1GB to be precise. More than enough for the kind of users it's marketted towards. This means you can take a few pictures on the phone, a few videos, perhaps transfer some music onto the phone and you'll still have loads of memory left. Obviously its not for as much use as an Ipod but it's fine if you want to bung 5-10 albums on there.
As for battery life, you can get a good 2-3 days out of it with moderate use. If you're going to be on the phone for 3 hours a day and texting on it then you'll need to charge it every day, as with most phones. But it isn't really a problem if you're charging it at night when you're asleep.
Calls/texts/camera
Calls are crisp and clear on this phone - had no problems with the sound. And texting is easy - you can set a shortcut button up on the main screen and from there you can compose a new message straight away. It also sends MMS as usual - and although the camera is a bit weak (2MP) the photos come out fairly good and are easily storeable or sendable. The video player is adequate for the 2MP camera it is - let's face it you're not going to be making movies on this but is handy for short clips of friends.
Other functions
Like I said there's no gimics with this phone. It has all the usual feature such as Alarm, Clock, Calendar, Calculator, a few Games, Converters etc. You can set up email on this but it's not going to be anything like a Blackberry. It has a pretty good internet browser which is quite fast. NO WIFI connection though.
Syncing
Nokia PC Suite is quite handy if you want to make a complete back up of your phone - that way if you lose it you can just put all the stuff back on your new handset. It comes with a cable and this phone is also Bluetooth enabled so if you have a Bluetooth connection on your laptop you can sync up over that (although it wil lbe much slower than a cable). If you want to put pictures from your computer onto you phone you're best off using the Data Storage mode on the phone when you plug it in as it's quicker to zoom through the phone's folders that way rather than loading up PC Suite which can be a bit slow when it wants to be!
Overall
A great little phone - available on PAYG for under £100 it's a phone that will last you a good few years. Comes with a very handy manual that tells you everything and the phone is so simple to use that you may not even need it. This is a nice, simple, lightweight phone for people who just want to have a phone to make calls, text on, and take the odd picture perhaps. There's no fancy gadgets or gimics here, just a beatiful looking easy to use phone. Its easy to set up too (there isn't really any setting up except saving your numbers and personalising the screen). The keypad is a little small for those with large hands but you get used to it. Texting is fast and a doddle.
Nokia always make good sturdy phones and this one is no exception.
Summary: A great simple phone from Nokia that wins everytime
