Advantages: radio, mini mp3, good phone reception, nice buttons and decent screen size
Disadvantages: mp3 way too small, and battery life is not great.
good phone, I have this in black, it looks the same and I am assuming it works in the same way so I am posting my report here!
Its a bit of a downfall from me- my n95 8gb was stolen and this was my replacement as I couldnt afford another n95 8gb. But its not too bad- difinatly not as bad as I was expecting, its amost like the predecessor to the n95, the buttons are very easy to use and it also has the front 5 when you slide down to hide the number panel.
It doesnt hold a great deal of music, about 2 or 3 albums, thats it, so not good for music buffs, but plays well and can be downloaded onto quickly.
What I like about nokias is the ease of use and speed of both the handset and the software onto computer, I am comparing this to sony ericsson phones of which I have had 3, none of which I could get to be compatable with windows vista, and contacting sony did not help either, thier customer serivice and technical advice was rubbish! Nokias advice seems to be fast and easier to understand.
The screen is of good quality, its images are clear and easy to read, though I wish they would enlarge the images on the welcome screen as they seem to be all squashed at the top, thats something all the other handset makers seem to have gotten around.
The ringtones are quite interesting/unique, but they also have the basic ring for those of us who dont want to look stupid in an office board meeting!
The keypad is easy to use, the main outter one is very tactile and nice to use, the numbers are slighly squashed, but no where near as bad as the sony ericsson.
Battery life is not the best, if I use the internet 20 minutes in the day, or I play music or the radio for an hour or so, I need to charge it up that night or it wont work the next day, but if its not used, it seems to work for around 2 days before it needs a charge.
The earphones look really shoddy from the outset, but use them before you bin them, they actually dont sound bad at all, I would even buy these! (and I own both bose and sennheiser cx500 earphones!) Though mine have just "gone" on me, could be they are faulty, or could be they are just cheap.
This will never be as good as the iphone, n95 or smasung touch, but it does its job very well and is a nice friendly phone to have.
Summary: I like this phone, it is a good basic with a few frills attached, just needs a bigger mp3

TheChocolateLady - 06/07/08 Good start here, but you really should try to write your reviews in a word processor to help you get rid of the typing and spelling mistakes. Also, how good/bad is the calling sound and some information about messaging, the phonebook and the menus would be nice. |
