Advantages: The stylish look
Disadvantages: Rubbish battery life
I upgraded my phone two months ago and i decided to go for the Nokia 6500 slide in black.
** My first impression of the Nokia 6500 slide**
When i first received my new phone i was very happy. It looked very stylish and attractive, and definitely a phone that catches peoples eye.
When i tried taking the back off to put the battery in i had a little bit of trouble. I have had Nokias in the past, but that was about 2 years ago, so i wasn't familiar with the new button on the top of the phone which you need to press to release the back cover. I think i tried for about ten minutes to try and take the back off by sliding it, and i even logged online to ask somebody, but then i noticed the button and the back finally came off.
** What comes with the Nokia 6500 slide**
Inside the box of the Nokia 6500 you will notice it comes with;
* Charger
* Battery
* User guide
* CD-ROMs
* hands free kit
** Main Features **
The 6500 is a very impressive phone, it comes with a 2.56Mb memory card, and a 3.2 Megapixal camera with an 8 x digital zoom with autofocus. The phone is a 3G phone with bluetooth technology and FM radio.
** Camera Quality**
I don't buy a phone for the camera, but its definitely a handy thing to have on your phone because you don't always carry your digital camera around with you.
I have taken several pictures with the phone in the short time i've had it, and i have to say i'm very impressed with the picture quality. Its very simple to use, and very easy to import to your PC.
** Bad bits about this phone**
I have only had this phone a short while so i can't really comment about all the features yet, but so far i have experienced problems with the phone switching off and then coming straight back on, and the rubbish battery life.
The first week i had this phone i started to experience the phone switching itself off and then straight back on again. At first i ignore it, and then it started happening more often. I took it back to the shop for them to have a look it and they came back to me saying it didn't have any faults with it. I took the phone away, and three weeks later i have only had the phone turn off and back on again once. I really like this phone so i wouldn't give up on it just yet.
The other bad point about this phone is the battery life. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem above, but the phone battery doesn't last very long at all. Regardless of how long i charge it for, it normally only lasts a couple of hours before dying on me. I don't often use the phone during the day, apart from the odd few texts, but i find by the end of the day my phone is dead. I have never come across a phone before where it can't last more than 6 hours before dying. This is a problem i think Nokia need to address, as my boyfriend is having the exact same problems with this Nokia 6500 classic.
** Overall**
Even though i have encountered a few problems with this phone, i still really like it. The look and quality as well as the features make it well worth keeping.
Summary: Stylish looking phone, but Nokia need to look into the battery issues
