Advantages: Stainlesssteel and all that...
Disadvantages: As you can telll, I'm not very fond of this phone...
6500 Slide was released around September 2007 in the UK. It is a mid-range phone, pushing its style and construction, along with features that nearly catches up to high-end phones. 6500 Classic is the bar factor phone, with 'identical' features. However, 6500 Slide was and is valued higher, initially going for around £300.
Now around £100-150 mark, why is this phone special? I really do not think it's worth such. Here's why.
I do not like its chunckiness, which people may argue, and to be frank 16mm is not so much to brag about, but this phone seemed and felt very chucky to me. The screen is too small for a phone with such price, 2.2inches, which is nearly not good enough, though it has to be said the resolution is fantastic. The camera is 3.2MP and does take nice pictures, but not nice enough - Nokia is never to be trusted with their phone cameras, apart from the 5MP monsters of N-series. The slide mechanism is no good either, and you would expect a phone with such calibre to have a smooth action. Another annoying thing is the memory card slow, which is located beneath the battery... how inconvenient is that? This simply means you can not take them out.
There are good sides however, such as comfortable keys, (big as well), fast interface, so no more waiting around for a prog to load, nice stainless steel body and good loudspeaker for those music lovers.
Overall, this handset was not for me, and what's more, I did not feel attached or attracted by it in anyway. I do not think I would recommend this phone to anyone really, seeing how there are other good alternatives in the market right now.
Summary: Average phone with unattractive qualities.

- 23/10/08 I'm still hoping you'll start to talk also about how these work as a phone and not just the special features. |
