The Nokia 6500 slide is a phone with some excellent pros but some significant cons as well. I'll start with the good though and to be honest the good is great. The phone looks fantastic with it's sleek metallic finish and is incredibly durable to bumps and drops. The screen is large and very clear which is a big advantage when a phone has a camera that is so good. I would say the camera is quite possibly the best I have seen on a phone which is 5MP or less. This could be down to having a Carl Zeiss lens which is outstanding in terms of the variety the camera can provide. The MP3 features and other audio are also a particular asset to the phone. The only downside to the MP3 player is the fact that it cannot take normal earphones so the nokia ones provided will have to do. In terms of features on the phone there are a thousand and one things you can do with it ranging from checking facebook or myspace to using it as a GPS so in terms of extras it is great value for the money.

Now the bad. The phone does come with some faults which can be the most irritating things at the worst times. The biggest problem I had was that the memory card reader is in possibly the worst shape I've seen. It is held in place by a small metal latch but this becomes loose over time leading to the card either not being read at all or being seriously mis read. This proves extremely frustrating if you like your camera or your music. The other thing is some strange technical faults such as turning itself off randomly even during phone calls. It then proceeds to turn itself back on when ANY button is pressed. Let's just say the first time it happened I was left absolutely bemused! The final thing that was a serious issue was the freezing up of the screen or the phone in its entirety. This would occur once every so often and would sometimes would involve the removal of the attery to solve the problem. On occasion it would happen when the phone was vibrating and the vibe would not stop when it froze.

Overall I would say if you are lucky and get one without the technical glitches, you have bought yourself one of the best phones on the market today for the money. However, it's more than likely it'll be ridden with these problems which really ruin a fantastic piece of equipment.
