Good budget phone (Nokia 6600 Slide)

Advantages: small, stylish, free memory card, good camera (3.2 megapixels)

Disadvantages: battery life isn't ideal, ringtone speaker not loud enough

I got this phone as an upgrade on my contract and I am very happy with it. It is small, looks stylish, has a good 3.2 megapixel camera and is easy to use (as are all Nokia phones I've had). The phone comes with a memory card which is good because the internal memory isn't great. The games that come with it are good - grand prix one in particular. The phone is also able to handle video calls as it has a camera on the front. A useful feature is the maps part where you can type in a postcode like a routefinder. It shows you the route although as there is no GPS it doesnt know how far away you are from your destination.

In terms of the main reason for the phone - making calls - it seems to be good. The menus are easily understood and easy to get used to so it hasn't been a problem so far. I have read that the reception can be patchy with this phone but it seems fine to me so far and I do travel around a lot. I have also read elsewhere that the battery life isn't great on these phones but so far it seems ok to me - it tends to last 4 days with an hour or so calls each day which seems ok.

A few downsides to the phone - the speaker for the ringtone is on the back of the phone so if it is lying on a table it is often hard to hear the phone ringing. Also, if you activate the backlight whilst the slider is closed, the screen only stays illumintated for about 3 seconds (although you can just press the button again to turn the light on).
